I know Toronto loves their jungle history, but there were so many happy hardcore raves there that it was just absurd. Dont suppose anyone remembers the track scorpio played for final tune at devotion 2000? Fantastic track, haven't found it again since i lost the tape. Sharkey's mixes on the early Bonkers albums (2-5 mainly) were a similar style and rocked massively. Trixxy has always been a standout producer for me, although he does veer into happy hardcore which obviously a lot of people don't like. I do though. He has always been one heck of a party animal, and done many drugs. Guess you gotta slow down somewhen. And some of it did have a trancey sound e.g the stuff Kev Energy puts out, but the best records were always at the harder and darker end. And they didn't sound like trance at all.
