List artists with similar mood/feel as BOC

I'm sure this must have been discussed before but I couldn't find it. Sincere apologies if I'm being repetitive.

On other pages, if you ask people for recommendations for artists who are similar to BOC they say Autechre or Aphex Twin or other Warp acts. But I don't don't think that they're that close.

What I'm looking for are artists who also capture the distinctive BOC mood i.e., that early 1970s lo-fi nostalgia spooky 'melting-cassette' dreamy feel.

So far, I've found the following artists - am I missing any?

Freescha

Casino versus Japan

Saturday Lo-Fi

Christ.

Ten and Tracer

Some Ulrich Schnauss

Some Four Tet

Some Black Moth Super Rainbow (though this is a bit too upbeat for me)

and of course, the BBC Radiophonic Workshop

as an aside, I hope BOC do release another album and that it's more of a return to Geogaddi. While still very very good, The Campfire Headphase didn't quite capture the magic of earlier releases for me.

As a 2nd aside, has anyone ever heard of lossless versions of A few Old Tunes circulating?

I've been meaning to do this for a while - I hope others will be able to contribute some artists to the list.

I thought I'd clarify some of the albums from the artists I posted:

Saturday Lo-Fi - Take my Bike I can Glide (their 2nd release isn't as successful, I don't think; it's not as dreamy)

Ten and Tracer - An Hour Brighter

Freescha - Slower than Church Music (I'm still yet to hear their more recent stuff)

Casino Versus Japan - Whole numbers play the basics and Go Hawaii

I've just got a hold of the majority of those. Still trying to ge STCM by Freescha. I've always wanted more BOC stuff, can't believe I've been missing out on this.

Yeah, I'm a big Eno fan, too, though I prefer his purely ambient stuff. Also, his collaborations with Harold Budd, which are incredible, such as Ambient 2 - Plateaux of Mirror

While the actual similarity to BoC varies, there are several interesting artists on the Ghost Box label who share a similar aesthetic, notably Belbury Poly and The Advisory Circle: http://www.ghostbox.co.uk/home.htm

Also, Ciaran Byrne is utterly fantastic. Probably my favorite of all similar artists.

Neil Scrivin's 'Twenty Years On Ben Nevis', although given how different it sounds from his other stuff (that I know of), I think it's a deliberate attempt at Boccyness. Free download from here for anyone who's interested.

Check out Solar Bears! They're pretty BoCcy to me in sound and feeling (others may not agree?) and their debut album, She Was Colored In, is fantastic! This album made me not mind about about the absence of a BoC album this year.

It's got a little boc in there, but they don't spring to mind as a boc-alike. One of the years best tho, for sure. Everybody should check it.

I've heard many songs from the artists posted in this thread and not one of the songs sound BOC. They may hint at it, but none of them can compare. BOC is just ahead of all these people in so many levels. Some I heard were pretty good but far from BOC.

This is why the BOC forum has a bad name. Can you stop sucking BOCs dicks for 2 seconds and contribute.

Why do you constantly need to belittle everything with similar sounds to BOC. We all know theyre good.

Your post made me angry, for fuck sake.

No I'm pretty sure I'm not.

I apologize to the sensitive members of WATMM. I failed to take yall into consideration while I was voicing my opinion. It was just that I came into this thread with higher expectations for the BOC sound-a-likes artists that the more I listened to them the more I realized I wasn't going to get what I anticipated, that being more BOC like music.

Again sorry to those I offended, sorry for stating my opinion I should have just kept my mouth shut and sorry for not contributing to this thread.

To make up for not contributing, here yall go.

I'd also like to add Arovane. Not so much cause he sounds like BOC (kinda) but just cause he is really really good as well.

Thanks for all the great suggestions so far.

The Advisory Board and Belbury Poly are a revelation. They really capture that early 70s UK aesthetic well!
