Looking for a program to generate sheet music based on my singing

As the kind of person who likes to improvise when I'm recording vocals, I find a lot of the time I want to go back and jot down exactly the notes I just sang to put them in something again later.

I've also wanted to be able to share these with other vocalists, but I can't tell what notes I sang half the time and that makes it really hard to write it down. :(

I can't help but wonder if there's a computer program out there that has a function like this; something that would generate sheet music based on microphone input. Has anyone here heard of anything like that?

A little bit more work, but have you considered singing the melody into an iPhone or something, and then working out the melody on a keyboard later? Shouldn't be too difficult.

Couple Melodyne (exporting track to Midi) with any sheet music programme (e.g. Sibelius). Done !

Well done. Don't forget to autotune first, though. Those bad notes you hit will be hard to edit from your sheet music.

why would you need autoune when you are dealing with a superior pitch detector/corrector, melodyne? mcbpete's suggestion is exactly what you need to do, no more

Did T-Pain go platinum using Melodyne or Autotune?

I rest my case.

but that has nothing to do with the original question by the poster? T-pain went platinum because he's manufactured by the corporate music industry and marketed to children ages 9-13

the original posters question was how do i turn my singing voice into usable digital sheet music, well since Auto-tune has issues with random octave jumping when singing in it in realtime, it would probably be awful to accomplish what the original poster was asking for. MElodyne on the other hand does not have this glitch, you can get a perfectly clean pitch data midi file output with almost no adjustments.
