inherently bad at creating music? for example richard d james is a prettty good artist, as evidenced by his self portrait on the cover of i care because you do. cause isnt music production very similar to drawing?

 

for the record, i cant draw for sht :facepalm:

Short answer: No, not really.

 

Long answer: Sound can certainly be tailored to evoke an image or visual atmosphere but in general the techniques and results are really different from drawing.

edit: i should add that being able to express yourself in one medium does not mean you'll be able to do it in another (or want to), so um, to answer your original question, not really.

Its a fact. All good Musicians can draw really well.

But I'm willing to bet that the kind of music you listen to translates to the type of art you would like to hang on a wall.

 

and vice versa.

it's a higher dimension than us. we can't see the object; we can only see the shadow it casts from various angles. change the angle. see how the shadow changes. try drawing and see how it effects your music. then go back to music and see how it effects your drawing. different angles lead to new insight and deeper understanding of the nature of the object
