Obsil is the alias of Italian electronic musician Giulio Aldinucci. He was born in Siena in 1981 and began his musical education as a young child. In addition to his musical research, that always focuses on different synthesis methods and on the use of field recordings, he also writes music for acoustic instruments and short film soundtracks.

 

'Vicino' is the musicians third album and follows in the same vein to his previous works. Aldinucci's music shares comparisons to the works of Susumu Yokota & Fennesz. Found sounds collide with lush classical orchestration which at times seems chaotic but the artist amazingly manages to keep everything sounding controlled and also rhythmically structured.This results in what can only be described as epic.
