how often between trips?

I haven't enjoyed tripping more than 2-4 times a year for the past couple years. I'm really wanting to trip more often now. It feels right. Lost interest in smoking pot as well, so maybe i now have i :mellow: n  t  e  g  r  i  t  y as a drug user. How long do you wait between trips and is there reason behind it? I am going to do one again in two weeks, and then wait another month after that one and see from there, but i see myself tripping maybe 4 times lot in these next 3 months. but i'd say at least 2 weeks between trips or it's not enough time to integrate. need 2 weeks to 6 months for that, depends. how about meditation? you guys hip on that. are you boppin in crickets?

dr. chen prescribes a regular routine of 2 trips per week with heavy pot use for the next 6 months.

Haven't tripped since April and have made it a personal goal to decrease frequency usage over my lifespan. So I probably wont trip until next April then the next time won't be for a couple years after that, then several more years after that. I have found that tripping results in a reset button for me, in the lightest sense of the word. It's best for me to do it when I'm at peaks in my life because it emphasizes my optimism on life way more and as a result, a spiritual orgasm of astrological proportions.

if you drink enough alcohol over time you'll get too lazy, broke and apathetic to want to bother tripping. so there is that.

First world problems. I would try to keep it once a month when I had a stash of psychedelics, but sometimes I tripped more. The reflections after the trip are as important as the experience itself and time should be spent doing it. If you're only reason to tripping is to get fucked up, then IMO that is a huge waste of good drugs. Now, to be clear I am not one of those "psychedelics are a holy sacrament, dude" types, but I do feel that they offer much more than hours of face melting fun. Not that the occasional just for fun, drop acid and go to a party sort of thing is wrong (but I found it still usually ending up sitting on a couch and being introspective, with the occasional foray onto the dance floor).

Do whatever feels right for you. That's the only thing that should matter.

psychedelics are for people who like to pretend they can cope with reality, but choose not to. they're dishonest drugs.

alcohol is for people who recognise that they can't cope with reality. it's an honest drug.

pot is for fucking teenagers.

I said something similar to this in chatmm once and created a shitstorm.

i guess people get very defensive about the things they do for fun.

The urine is collected by handlers and stored in fridges by the walls, which also hold both dried and fresh fly agaric mushrooms. By day they're locked, but at night the fridges are opened, allowing people staying over to sample the contents. However, because only half the reindeer are fed the mushrooms, it's impossible to know which bottles, if any, contain hallucinogenic urine.

Tanja Klein, 28, won a competition to spend the night in the museum with her boyfriend, Sachar Kriwoj, 30. "I wasn't going to go and drink six bottles of reindeer urine to find out," says Klein. "I'm not into drugs, I'm into art."

Höller hasn't tried the urine, but he has tried the mushrooms. "They're very unpleasant," he says, speaking from his home in Stockholm. "And you throw up. The first four times I tried it, I became comatose. Then you wake up, throw up, and you don't know where you are, or how long you've been asleep. The sixth time, I started to chant like a Tibetan monk."

it's been a while..

i like mushrooms better than acid

honestly my dreams as of late have been far more psychadelic and vivid

than a majority of the trips i have taken on drugs..

melatonin may have something to do with it, that and waking up to pee at night..

seems to throw my brain into a dreaming frenzy, that or somehow enables me to remember

the dreams we all have every night.

just BEYOND weird dreams, like a neural shitstorm of exquisit corpse visions from one locale to another,

crawling through claustrophobic mineshafts, myst-like towers, orgies, and waterworlds

don't even get me started on the people (creatures?) i meet and communicate with..

seriously, where does the brain source these kind of visions from?

sometimes it takes a good 15-30 minutes after waking up for anything to seem real at all..

if you have a modicum of self-control, it's better not to try and be regular about it. take a trip. let it sink in. take another when you feel ready. there's a little voice inside of me (quite a nagging one, actually) that i listen to for these sort of decisions. i suppose the most important part is to not go on a bender and lose some of your connection with reality (e.g. tripping should be balanced out with reality).

was that a foetus reference?

I find my artistic life to be one long exquisite corpse with my mind alternating between a sponge and a sieve.

That's a ridiculous statement by Iain to be fair but i tend to disagree with him about a lot of stuff, i've noticed lol (no offence Iain). I'd love to take psychadelics but i dont trust my brain enough.

nah, it wasn't. sorry :)

its just about the only way i can describe my dreams..

i know i'm not alone though, surely its just a human thing to have these kind of visions while you sleep.

its like the brain takes all the information it stores in the cortex/hippocampus and adds a touch of this, and a touch of that and so on.

then what you end up with are wholly integrated abstractions that feel real, but aren't.

psychadelics must activate the same systems, but the presence of sensory information from the outside world gets thrown into the mix..

trips do feel like you're dreaming. i always felt strongly this is why trips, for me atleast, make me feel comfortable most of the time

because i thoroughly enjoy my dreams when im sober.

thanks for the quote though, i like it!

looking into him now...

I thought I might mention this dream:

I'm flying down my neural pathways in this psychedelic tunnel and entering into my own brain, this chamber in 3D graphics, a voice booming over loudspeakers saying, "Welcome to your brain.

Also there have been many extensive dreams in which I die and see the afterlife - or for instance kill myself so that I can see what the afterlife looks like while in the dream. In my dreams the moment of death is basically like combining Salvia, Acid, Shrooms, DMT I imagine, and peaking on all of them at once. That's the impression I got though. Just a huge blast of psychedelic fractals and colors.

i had a dream about flying through tunnels that were made of giant 3D geometric shapes connected by smaller cylindrical tubes. giant 3D rhobmus, green. float through and into cylinder, through cylinder. like floating through an airlock. i just kind of watched it go by for a bit, then it occurred to me to look up. there was a portal in the ceiling and i went up, up through it. it was like one of the super mario pipes, because suddenly i was on the grass outside the elementary school i went to.

i can't help but wonder if that was like some sort of train station for dreams. i always figured i'd have gotten a different thing other than the schoolyard if i'd looked up inside a different 3D shape thing.

probably just noise in the neurons, but it nags at me when i'm on the shitter. what does it all mean?

those dreams in themselves are proof that our brains and our perception are complex beyond anything we can possibly make sense of.

a dog looks in the mirror and fails to understand what is going on, and then says something like this to the other dogs.
