I've been hassling my contact at Ghostly for a long while about this now... I think it is now looking as if the album will be released in early 2006. Twine are a fantastic band, and their last album was just so stunningly beautiful. I can't wait to hear more from these guys...

where i can see the artwork?

well.. FUCK ! the whole artwork (front cover and back w/tracklist) was on their myspace the last time I checked. it was kinda like in the same mood than your last record. the front cover was like an abandonned room all messed up with the same "TWINE" thing in the middle in a black square. the room's walls were like light green. the back artwork was also in the same mood than their last record, a pic from the same room, with the titles arranged just like on their previous ghostly record.

I honestly have no idea of why they erased it, it was on thier myspace images, maybe they got rid of it because it's coming out soon ? or I dunno... but I tell, I saw that shit... the pics were kinda similar than the ones in the menu of their site. especially the first two so, on the "01. main page" and the "02. twinesounding" menus.

anyways, too bad, they were really great covers !

yeah, luckily I just caught them too before they got taken down. I can't believe I've been waiting a year for this thing, Ghostly really have been rubbish with their time for release.

Twine

Violets

GI-59 | CD/digital | 17 June 2008

Violets is a requiem for the new dark age. A memoir of a dying era, defined by the years of an inevitably dichotomized and isolated nation.

On their long-awaited fourth full length, the duo of Greg Malcolm and Chad Mossholder move from the muggy backwoods of their early work towards the sonic approximation of icy remoteness. Created by a process of long distance file-sharing, the layers of Violets mesh together in a synchronous and fragile splendor, melding disembodied vocals, guitar rattles and crispy unpredictability to create a modern classic.

The recurring theme of Violets is indeed a fascination with the human voice – voyeuristic telephone and CB conversations, the musings of a girl on dictaphone, crowd noises from anti-war rallies - these elements hover just beneath the lush and temperamental musical surface. On “Endormie”, guitar plucks crystallize in real-time, while the voice of legendary Cranes vocalist Alison Shaw surfaces in frosted gasps. The result is a calming and inescapable melancholic pull. Elsewhere, the massive leitmotif of “Disconnected” evokes images of a lonely neighbor practicing his weathered 6-string in a barren room while explosions overtake his home and psyche.

Twine have crafted their most highly polarizing and fully realized record to date. Violets casts a haunting shadow and its many inspirations, from the largesse of world affairs, to the minutiae of domestic life, reinforce its startling relevance in an age of cultural fracture and discontent.

Finaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaallly Boomkat has it: http://www.boomkat.com/item.cfm?id=103128

I actually found this free Twine EP today too: http://ropeswingcities.com/?p=42

Thanks  That EP is gonna be on my mp3 player now.

Also, lol:

Most people know of Twine as an incredibly talented duo, that create beautiful and haunting experimental music. I know at least half of Twine as the guy who once tacked all of my shoes and socks to the ceiling of my bedroom, also as the guy who used to fill the front seat of my car with rocks. He also hid pizza boxes in my bed. That’s why I’m continually impressed by the ability of Chad Mossholder and Greg Malcolm to produce mature, thoughtful and emotional music.

Awesome, i didn't actually read that press release ! The EP isn't immediately grabbing me (but hey it's free !!) EXCEPT the track 'Element' which is stunningly beautiful.

True, the first two tracks don't really do anything for me, but Element is quite good and I also like elevation, to which I am listening at the moment. It's free and it's got good tracks for sure, good find!
