The Ghana Special off Soundwave Records is killer as well.I've been on a huge Afrobeat/Highlife kick lately, mostly 60's/70's music from Ghana and Nigeria. Make sure you check juaneco y su combo, los shapis, los orientales de paramonga, los mirlos, los wemblers, most of them I found though the roots of chicha compilations... One of my favorite albums is actually a compilation from a label called masstropica, from an american dude who fell in love with peruvian music. it's called el sonido de la carretera central.
