mcbpete's indie game of the month

Those who have followed this infrequent series of topics are probably surprised to find that I haven't posted a link to some quasi 1.7 dimensional game where you play an undeveloped expression that has to evolve into the conception of Thursday the 14th of July by obtaining fragments of hubris from a pixellated apostrophe, but instead a proper conventional game with health bars, points and everything ...

Everyone in their 20s or above who have posted on this forum will no doubt have played one of the games in the Streets of Rage trilogy (most probably the (in my opinion superior) second one). Imagine if your memory of the game was not that of a rose-tinted past, but that the game had evolved to entirely meet your expectations of something that been slowly maturing for the last 20 years. Like a fine wine, cheese, or second cousin.

Grab a friend, a couple of joypads (if you can get hold of some Playstation->USB joypad converters you'll be in heaven), and relive your youth. 8 years in the making and over a 100(!) stages in stature. Ladies and Gentlemen - The Streets of Rage Remake Project (version 5)

Well this one has all three, mulched together into 2d-scrolling-beat-em-up goodness.
