it was alright, The Rock and Sam Jackson made the movie for me, the 'aim for the bushes' scene was probably the highlight of the movie (maybe put it in spoilers if someone hasnt seen it?). Michael Keaton also was funnier than both Will Farrel and Mark Whalberg. He (marky mark) needs to have his acting licence taken away, i don't think i've seen whalberg perform adequately i na single film, he is totally one note and you can hear his marky mark forced street voice lisp in every movie

I just wanna give you guys some ammo. Kinda like I did with Tropic Thunder. Now, the next time I shit on your favorite (but clearly terrible) movie, you can scream, "FUCK YOU, MIREZZI U PRETENTUS DUCHE U LIKD OTHER GAYS!"

I wanted very much to like Step Brothers, but as some of you know, I really cannot stand John C. Reilly.

Like...Walk Hard? Worst comedy ever list, near the bottom. The dude wants to be funny like his friends, but he's not.

i enjoyed Walk Hard for what it was, as far as generic parody movies are concerned it was slightly smarter than the slew of atrocious ones of recent memory. I especially liked Tim Meadows, he's on of my favorite SNL actors.

this makes me lol everytime

agreed for the most part, but i thought he did a decent job in 'the departed'. the forced street voice you speak of is pretty annoying.

he was alright in the fighter. and he was ok in boogie nights. a lot of people have a super visceral reaction to him but i'm never offended. I'm never transported and amazed by his performances, just

I liked him in I <3 Huckabees.

Yes. Also, Boogie Nights and The Departed were really good roles for him. You can't expect him to be a chameleon or anything, he's just Marky Mark, which is funny.

havent seen any of these movies but i love tim meadows. i might check out walk hard just for him.

i like john c. rielly but he's pretty hit or miss. i think he does better with serious or half-funny roles than straight comedy.

watched the aviator the other day, he was good in that. he's the sort of actor i love in minor roles, but i'd probably get really sick of as a lead.

exactly! He wasn't just passable in those 3 films, he was very good! Was also fine in 3 Kings. I think he's gotten worse over time - seems he got a little full of himself after The Departed. But watch Boogie Nights again, he did a fantastic job. For example the scene where he argues with his mom.

Regarding the clip Mirezzi posted, my only impression was my god this is the absolute worst compositing and wire-work I have ever seen.

And yeah, John C. Reilly is unfortunately too distractingly ugly to be funny.

i met him about a 3 weeks ago at o'hare and his flight was cancelled and he looked super pissed and i did the super dorky thing of being all like "umm... hi.... i like you as dr. steve.... it's really funny.... i love that show susuhshuhhhh...." and he dealt with me very amicably I have to admit.

It's...very much supposed to be? They're parodying action movies. :whistling:

Wow. So wrong

that said the Other Guys got a good review from my parents and it looked like a cut above the rest

I might even call Walk Hard my favorite comedy from the last few years. It's a constant series of laughs for me when I watch it, and it has a good soul too so it's borderline touching in a weird way.

I thought Tropic Thunder was funny but pretty much soulless.
