Thanks! Yah, chromatic aberration is actually synthetic-- by shifting channels to come off like a registration problem during printing. People have been overdoing that shit for the past few years, but I still love it when used in a subtle manner. Also use of subtle dither shits, to emulate print. From an aesthetic standpoint, the hair is actually doing a lot of the dream-work-- due to emulating the feel of looking through glass or a prism, so there is a sense of realness and movement (stillness). I can almost feel those synthetic hairs in my mouth (uh, not in a pleasant way).

DIGITAL ANALOG 4 LIFE~~~~~~~~

Also: "Liiife is but a dream...."

People have been abusing such analog aesthetic for the past 5 years, but I feel if done properly, can add depth and substance beyond nostalgia. There is something really trippy and awkwardly pleasing about ads from the 70's/80's. Especially in concept car and modern/phuture architecture photos from the era, the quality of the film processing added a dreamlike surreal quality to images. Or horror comics from the 60's, when there were registration errors in printing, it's like the sense of fucked-upness is being experienced IN REAL LIFE by the actual comic itself being fucked up.

I like the way it's posed, (i'm not subtle) is she sneaking a watch of TV whilst the adults are away or is it fluoro from outside escaping into the shop and she's set herself up to watch the street life roll by, what's the cool light from?

Thanks. The cool light is from some fluorescent flood light tings we were using for lighting the furniture we were shooting. But the rack lighting above was warm, so the cool+warm works well for photos like this, buuuut kind of fucked up for product photo shots. Mixing cool/light is tough. But as a story, the baby was freaky, cuz she was resting like that in a crib. All alone. Just chilling, apparently. On hard wood. All dressed up. I wouldn't be surprised if the doll offered us coke.
