Couldnt find this by searching the forum - Is there a place WATMM folks typically go to trade and sell each other records?

I know theres the Vinyl Collective forums, but I was just wondering where people around here go, since these are the sounds Im much more interested in trading for?

The Amazon marketplace link is great for buying and selling cds (yeah I still buy those silver frizbees from time to time). Avoid Amazon for vinyl imo.

Bleep/Ebay for future vinyl.

Discogs for past vinyl.

Boomkat is best for mp3s (just got the 1st Gescom ep from there).

Illegal mischief for bands who don't deserve my money but who make the odd good track, or stuff I am checking out.

Here where I live it used to be a "John Lennon's Shop", where you could found 50s+... vinyls, CDs, and all that audiophile shit. Was pretty cool, but now, for some reason, is gone.

yeah, discogs is where it's at. you can add things to your wantlist, then when they come up you get notified by email. you can also private message people and make offers. there are rare finds and good deals to be had but it involves a lot of waiting/searching.

I'd really love to find a local place to trade records. I have some stuff I really don't want anymore, but other people might want to have. And of course, there are some things I don't have and would really love to get. Combine those two and everybody ends up happy.

yeah discogs is pretty amazing. just scored the first meshuggah album on vinyl in super amazing condition!

other than that, i do still love going to physical record stores and digging through endless piles of records. luckily there are a lot of secondhand record stores in melbourne. i managed to pick up the ISS:SA 12" for $7 a few months ago!
