Max Roach: "Mr. Ellington really kicks our butts, he's all over the place. And we were supposed to be the hot young guys, but we were scrambling. Mingus got so unsettled he just decided to pick up the bass and leave. So we all went into the lobby, and Mingus was just beside himself. We had to calm him back down to finish off the rest of the session. Duke had to coax him back into the studio, telling him how beautifully he was playing."

Heh.

"Jazz jam recorded by some convicts of the Ohio State Penitentiary in the 70s. Among them Logan Rollins, cousin of famous saxophonist Sonny Rollins. The whole album was recently reissued by Jazzman, this song also appeared on their first compilation in the series "Spiritual Jazz - Esoteric, Modal And Deep Jazz From The Underground 1968-77".
