Hello all, I'm new to the forum so I thought I'd introduce myself briefly, if you are on the Seymour Duncan forum, I am also known as cream123. In case you can't tell by the label to your left, my name is Marc...I'm 19 and I've been playing guitar for about eight years and doing hobbyist mixing and recording for about four, I suppose. I'm currently an Electrical Engineering major and would like to end up designing guitar effects for a more progressive company like Ehx...someone that pushes the bounds of what can be done with a guitar signal. But that's another matter.

As far as guitar gear, I've got a bit but not nearly as much as many...

main guitar:

Polished up Squier Affinity strat

-refinish in seafoam green nitro

-SD Phat cat in neck position

-no bridge pickup

-Volume knob, no tone

Main Amp:

Either a Twin Twelve through a early 70s Univox 2x15

or

A mid 70s Guild Maverick

Pedals (need to get more):

Ehx Sound retainer

DIY rebote 2.5 delay with tap tempo mod

Ehx Voice Box

a couple other DIY things

other:

Axiom 25 keyboard

As far as musical tastes...lets see. I'm pretty open to anything. I definitely tend to like certain genres, but I'll give anything a chance...

Smashing Pumpkins

Animal Collective

Folky stuff...Neutral Milk

Big Boi

Common

Nomo and other Afrobeat/Jazz

Bon Iver is pretty cool stuff too

idk, I could go on but you get a pretty good idea? A lot of it is poppish. I usually like a good beat too...

as far as the music I make, it seems to depend on the day...

here's my soundcloud, lemme know if you want to sample anything on there, I will let you just let me know so I can hear the product...

anyways...yeah, here I am...I hope I can learn a lot about production, music, etc. this seems like a pretty cool place.

-Marctron

(sorry about the novel)

Yes, I have heard of the man. I will have to get into his work a little more it seems.

Sounds to me like a Tom DeLonge (a la Blink 182) signature model. IDM as fuck.

there's a really fantastic one out there where a jazz band covers his songs, you should look that one up too! the electro-acoustic treatment of the material really shines!!

and I'm really feeling like an idiot...I normally consider myself fairly tech savvy but I cannot find the edit button for that first post. I've edited it post before. Sorry for the really, really stupid question.

Yeah, actually its very similar. The only difference being the pickup and its placement (its even got a pearl pickguard). I really, really dug the aesthetics of the Tom DeLonge model.

Awesome. Is there a place where I can buy the albums that directly supports him? Normally I just go with Amazon or similar but I'd prefer to support him more directly because he seems like a very "close to the listeners" kind of artist.
