No worries, and thanks sirch. I have to sort out work first (I'll be pissed if I can't, and a sicky isn't an option). Got a ticket anyway though, and if it's anywhere near as good as their night here last year it'll be amazing. Hopefully add to the profile of NAC as well, great venue.

Just a quick bump to say that this was another great show, thankfully with none of the technical difficulties mentioned in Dusselforf. Not a massive crowd but very appreciative, and Ed and Andy even gave into calls for an encore. Hardly surprising that the majority of the set was Scintilli tracks (including Outside Orange), but there was one I didn't recognise which seemed very vaguely reminiscent of elements of Trail. Plus Eye Robot, which seemed to get a fair bit of hate a while back on here seemed greatly expanded. That and Fum were intense. Cracking night, hope the reception they got encourages them to return again next year (plus if they do still live in Suffolk it's not far for them to travel either). I fucking love Plaid.

EDIT: Dang Spot cropped up as a closer - any of the older UK WATMMers ever pick up a bit of morning schools programmes interlude music with that track?

a Tuesday night is always gonna be difficult to draw in a crowd. nobody really goes out on a Tuesday it seems... well, down here anyway, it's always dead.

but it sounds like you had a good night mate! which is good :) ......i wish they'd play more Southerly dates...

btw i read that Ed has moved back to Suffolk but Andy still lives in London.

Yeah, it's never an ideal night, but those who made the trip did Norwich proud, I'd say (probably more than me, I avoided old fart's Dad-dancing ignominy by standing back by the mixing deck and head-bobbing). And it's nice to know that you don't always have to be in London or Manchester to get the odd good gig. Norwich Arts Centre is an ace small venue, hope Spectro can keep bringing the likes of Plaid back.

highlights for me were:

- 8 minutes mangled and joyeously bass distorted, ear drum splitting version of Somnl, slowly built up then before being distructed.

- 2 part luscious 9 minute version of 'Talk to Us', sequed into a yet unreleased tune.

- A now customised version of 'At Last', different intro and the drums have a slightly different rythmn.

- A slightly beefed up version of 'Tender Hooks'.

oldies played were:

- Crumax Rins (Mixed into Tender Hooks)

- The Laughing of Big Face (mixed into Eye Robot)

I don't think that the speakers were all that great in norwich (not as good as Winchester) - The encore was 'Eyen'/'Dang Spot', incidentally the IDENTICAL encore to the Spectro gig of last year.

To me it looks like Plaid are still playing live through LogicPro and tiddling the mixer for effects, the set seems to be mutating since the set they did in Winchester, but the time it hits the last few dates in the US it'll probably quite different.
