Guest yikes
do you know exactly what i mean? sweep the mids on an amen and get the douchechills. crank a high pass on a synth and your gf's panties get wet. it's like getting the same feeling when you know you are about to get head or mow the lawn or you win at a video game. Guest Promo
I know what ya saying Yikes. Don't listen to Ludd he's just a party pooper. Although I would have to agree with him that's it not quite on the same level as some of the comparisons you came up with lol.
Guest hahathhat
do you know exactly what i mean? sweep the mids on an amen and get the douchechills. crank a high pass on a synth and your gf's panties get wet. it's like getting the same feeling when you know you are about to get head or mow the lawn or you win at a video game. have you seen this? http://www.geuggis.com/tb-303/art06.htm Human listeners - and probably a few furry quadrupeds - interpret this output of increasingly high pitched audio signals as sounding like the cry of a living creature becoming increasingly distressed, apparently in response to quickly repeated bursts of stimulus. Whole essays could develop from this, in terms of how a few simple passive components in the TB-303 mimic the distress cry of a living, sentient creature. This is especially important in the context of the effect happening more as the filter's resonance is increased. There could be speculation as to how this audio response to distress evolved, both in nature and in the TB-303. From there, it is relatively simple to postulate that humans and other intelligent forms of life would evolve to develop an analagous emotional response when hearing such sounds. i always felt there was something to this. certain noises are tied to deep-brainstem fight-or-flight responses.... or sexual responses ! Guest Promo
I don't see it myself. The 303 just sounds funky and can be goofy and silly at the same time. That said some of the squelling dubstep lines can be very irritating if you're not in the right mood.
hardcode
call me old but i always thought the filter sweep was cool cause it's the fundamental starting point that distinguishes what can be done with electronic drums vs. real skins
