An insider opinion is no different from an outsider opinion. If an outsider is knowledgeable about processes then they will have similar opinions. If an opinion is based on inside information, then it is a matter of insider information and not the opinion.

As to serious vs. normal - well define normal for me.

I'd rather not answer the first part.

I mean, I read many articles predicting the end of the world prior to the 2008 financial crisis and that was eh, solved (?). So now I find it difficult to believe things are wrong for real this time, in other words I have now way to separate the real from the hype. Like when you are a kid and blindly believe everything the first cool Rock magazine you find tells you?

Short of an enormous natural disaster (or series of natural disasters) or a nuclear holocaust, any sort of global collapse is going to be gradual and take quite a bit of time to occur. You'll have plenty of time to prepare and figure out what you want to do.

if we are always ready then we need not worry, we can transition into anything. it is people who are unprepared or who do not care that will suffer what may soon come to pass. knowledge is power, it is freedom and it is also peace

Can someone please shoot this trader in the face? He's like a living cancer of society. Society must be saved.

Wholeheartedly agree. Scum of the earth. I am actually surprised that he came out like that. People like him is exactly why we are in this mess, for them it's all about making bankroll and fuck the real world consequences of what they do in their posh Wall Street office. I wonder if these financial sharks are actually sociopaths.

Among the major advanced economies, the IMF now thinks Germany and Canada will be the only countries to grow by more than 2% in 2011.

wtf is Canada doing right? The fact that they subsidize the video game industry?

Whatever it is, I want in lol.

lol

What a fucking cunt

I spend quite a bit of time in London and if I see this dick, (no matter how small the chances) I will knock him clean out and leave a letter in his pocket about how I've financially protected my assets (fists).

I'm off to write the letter now.

Which I may have to post him from prison but at least I'll be protected in there.

There was a guy at the office, he used to spend 6 to 8 hours a day watching computer graphics that never ever seemed to change and made like 100 000 times our salary. He gave another programmer like eight books on finance stuff so he would write a software for him to automate his watching. Every once in a while I wonder if I should do the same but I'm cursed with this horrible thing called conscience that won't let me do 'work' like this.

Why is he a dick ? He's just speaking about the world as he understands it. What's wrong with bringing an umbrella when you know it's going to rain that day.

It's more complicated than that because...this is going to get wild, stay with me: when he deploys his umbrella, the whole world floods with torrential rain. It's this overabundance of hackers traders that cause wild fluctuations and panic not just in America but in the whole world. No one can fault people like this guy over their self-interest because that's what we all care about.

The problem is that nothing is checking the unbounded chaos their behavior causes. Because so much of this can be done online, it really is like some grand Playstation game for them. Meanwhile, we get fucked on food, petrol and everything else because of their speculation. Honestly, I'm glad that guy broke it down like that because it's the honest fucking truth. No one heard these words during all the bailout scare tactics but they were behind every last second of it.

*wolfs out furiously*

The traders are causing short term volatility yeah. But the long term shitstorm in the markets is coming from the bankers. They're the one's making the real money, win or lose for everyone else, they still rake it in.

Uh no. Traders (especially currency speculators) are the ones who make the markets swing. Their precious liquidity flows were the catalysts for depressions in Mexico, Russia, SE Asia and Korea, and now America. The current crisis was not caused by banks.
