Why do skate vids love the fish-eye lens so much? I mean, I enjoy skate vids immensely (the Daewon Song-Rodeny Mullen comps are probably some of my favorite shit, along with like early Toy Machine, stuff from the Firm and of course the classic Powell-Peralta vids) - but it just seems weird that there's such a preponderance of fish-eye lens. Unless there's like a technological reason for it?

Man, I wiped out hard last night. Both my hands are bruised and swollen, and I think I bruised my rib [that I had cracked a few months ago.

Fuck skateboards right now. Ugh. I'm about to go get a vicodin prescription filled.

they wouldn't show him fucking himself up, he'd pay them not to show him fucking himself up.

he can go back to fucking himself.

also, didn't watch thanks to the screen cap of wheezy himself standing smugly in front of a head of baphomet within an inverted pentagram on the wall behind him.

You can see more. And go-pro uses them which is like the go-to extreme sport camera.

I hope you now boycott skateboards. Everyone who rides one is going to hell you know.

With wide angle / fish eye lenses, you have a greater depth of field... you don't have to worry about adjusting focus.

Ah ok. so there is a technical reason to it. cool. thanks.

ps essines yer going to hell

i don't think that dude, i even see the humor in inadvertently posting "hail satan" as you do... i just had to point out the striking placement of satanic imagery in close association with the whole lil wayne persona, and how it basically raised a red flag to me, in that the video would just be a waste of my time and energy, as it was intended to be, and that i need not pay any attention to it.

i think, though, that what he is standing in front of is the logo of a skateboarding publication. they support more than little wayne. i think your assumption is pretty heavy handed and silly. though i won't deny that the video could easily be considered a waste of time if you dislike little wayne or skateboarding. that logo can be found in skateboarding. has nothing to do with little wayne. i just don't understand using a logo as a basis for ignoring a video or anything for that matter. i don't fuckin' know any more

yeah, thrasher is just a skate magazine. i love that i'm better than him at skateboarding, but probably not as much as he loves the fact that he makes more money in the time it takes him to shit than i will make in my entire life

put simpler, i know the logo has nothing to do with wayne, but the fact that it's there is a good enough reason for me not to watch the vid at all, as it reminds me of many aspects of his character. thrasher's obv one of the dirtier, darker skate companies, and because of their aesthetic i never bought any of their mags or merch, but that doesn't mean i don't still love skateboarding as a whole. i grew up skateboarding.

I remember back in the day when it was only Thrasher or Transworld and that was it for skate mags. Also, lil wayne makes meore from selling that above mentioned shit than I will in my whole life.

this... and they can capture the approach, the trick and the landing all close up, without much panning.
