25 minute piano composition EP by Terrestrial Council: EP 2011.09

Recently I wanted to compose a piano series because a friend of mine always commented that he'd like to hear the melodies without drums. Anyways, I composed a set of piano pieces in the last few months and compiled it with some reworks of electronic tracks, and older compositions. The compositions are all rendered on computer, except the last track which was recorded live.

You can stream the entire EP from Soundcloud or via bandcamp on the URL below:

Any feedback would be great, I hope some enjoy it!!! =)

Appreciate your work. Is this an improvised piece?

Thanks both for reading and listening!! Only the last track, "Rain that Falls" is improvised. It was recorded live, and is pretty much the only recorded live work of mine that's released. The rest were all composed through MIDI sequencing, and I used a piano VST to play them back. One thing this made me realize is that I'd love if MIDI was updated to have a larger range of velocity, but either way it was nice to explore velocity more.

I don't really have the Internet which is why I'm hardly ever around, but when I get a chance on here with headphones I'll give your release a listen and give feedback. =)

Generally It's really nice. However there are some things that I think would really help clean it up a bit. mostly I'm talking about the use of the sustain pedal. On the first track the low notes tend to get really muddled as the pedal doesn't lift at all during the piece. If you left the pedal just before low notes come in it would make those lower range melodies a lot more clear.

I really love the pieces though. It would be amazing to get a really good player to play them all for a record. You should look into that.
