Lol ^ for some reason that image triggered memories of Dennis Hopper's infamous "mommy" scene from Blue Velvet. Weird how recall works sometimes...Chill track anyhow haha

Why am I not surprised Volor Flex is Russian? Them ruskies really seem to relate to the icey Burial/f'garage sounds. The sounds here are a lot more varied than a typical B. release; has he just out-burialed burial at his own game (seriously)? I love it, exaze - cheers.

Ah, was going to mention Ghostek

RE: Volor Flex

wow...I mean, shameless but still. Remarkable if you're a Burial fan. I've been rinsing the piss out of the "Tramp" album

I actually enjoy most of what I hear coming out of Russia and the CIS Pfork had a good feature on some producers It's quite unpretentious but there is care and effort put in, just not overdone. It isn't slathered in irony or trendiness either like scenes in the US and Europe, nor does it lazily pander to existing dance styles like say, certain Jamaican and Brazilian electronic music. Hell, it almost fits into the stereotype of Russians reverse-engineering vehicles into their own solid but simple products. This is like the musical equivalent.

That was a decent read, cheers. Interesting to learn where Pixelord sources his sounds from :)

when they say they use a lot of game sounds, do they use synths or do they sample directly from the games? any clue?
