Sup is actually the result of a controversial experiment conducted by the British government. The WATMM Featured Artists were taken to a secret underground lab in *British equivalent of Nevada*, where they were tasked with creating the most complex drum & synth wobble sequence the world had ever heard - transcribing the entire human genome to beats.

 

The Featured Artists laboured day & night without sleep for years. Complex time signatures. Polyrhythms. That thing where the drums get really fast at the end of a break. Aphex Twin slowly went mad from the lack of lush pads. Squarepusher walked away after a nervous breakdown, vowing to make nothing but freestyle bass albums & easy grooving electro for the rest of his days. Boards of Canada died in a tragic accident involving a cyborg monkey & a snare drum.

 

But in the end, their toil was not in vain. Human DNA, in all its vast beauty & endless complexity, was transcribed to a 30 hi-hat loop in Garageband. The government was ecstatic. The Queen was summoned from her lair on Mount Queen. The first public performance was about to take place. Officials gathered in the Royal Rave Hall, & the music began.

 

Incredible things happened in those 30 seconds. Things not witnessed on this Earth before or since. Time slowed down. New colours were created. New dimensions. The dead walked. For a moment all strife on Heaven & Earth stopped, & a feeling of deep contentment passed through every creature great & small. It was all quite good.

 

The piece came to an end, leaving faint reverbations the only sound in the great hall. No one spoke. Many wept silently. But slowly, more & more took notice. Took notice of a strange, spherical figure floating in the centre of the room. A chorus of gasps rang out as the smoke began to clear. Could it be, the officials all thought, is this the being of pure IDM of which the ancient philosopher Vangelis spoke?

 

No one said a word as the creature gazed on one & all with a look of enlightened contentment. After a moment it spoke, a single word that would remain in the hearts of all who heard it forever. The creature said:

 

"Sup"

i wonder how many LTM's are responsible for this whole multi-leveled sup dialogue with himself?

 

if only you knew the true story.

i've a pretty fine grasp on it in me imagination. you guys are too easy :p
