once again this is a massive prank and he is laughing at all of us

i'm sure he got paid to do this right?

this must have cost …what a half a million to put together maybe more?

he's got hundreds of musicians forced to play with headphones and color coded drone charts to make what is essentially droned out ambient

these are most likely the people who have to play redundant classical repertoire their entire lives.

it sounds like steve roache to me

meanwhile richard is splifing out laughing remotely in a studio …pushing faders

brilliant

Maybe theres a pattern here? Squarepusher is sorta doing a live setup thing albeit on a much smaller scale with Alex Thomas (he said they're both doing the work of like 4-5 people). Maybe there is a sort of push for this sort of thing.

RDJ has brushed classical music in the past anyway.

I think what makes this so strange is the fact, that the conducting part (in the way it is performed) is somewhat insignificant. Of course the arrangement of the chords they played might be unique, but then again a more "human" conductor could make way more subtle changes and also I don't think that Richard - while conducting - could come up with something that is more brilliant than a prearranged piece. So what is left here is a nonetheless very interesting piece of music and an all the more interesting musical idea (as Wall Bird pointed out - absent conducting). What this needs is way more technical features.
