I seem to have caught up with a lot of good TV over the past few years and need some more, a taste of things I've watched:

Mad Men

Breaking Bad

Dexter

Game of Thrones

Boardwalk Empire

Sopranos

BSG

Generation Kill

Modern Family

How I Met Your Mother

Prison Break

The Wire

Is there any excellent series I haven't seen, think I may give Ringer a look?

(Wouldn't it be wicked if you could wipe your mind of these and watch them fresh again!)

Lately I have been watching Dark Angel which I ignored for a decade until someone told me it was Cyberpunkish but it turns out its actually so bad its hilarious in ways that make me giggle almost every 2 minutes when watching it. Totally hooked. Jessica Alba is a pleasure to watch also.

edit: Stargate SGU and Caprica were really good and so was the Sarah Connor Chronicles, if you missed that.

I like An Idiot Abroad. Don't know if they're still making it, but I loved watching Archer too.

Are you into sci-fi or not particularly?

Saw Dark Angel when it was first on, was ok back then. Seen Caprica, not seen SGU.

Yes I like sci-fi, but good ones are hard to find. Seen Firefly which was great.

Homeland

American Horror Story

The Big C

Trust the Kaen to come through, Homeland looks excellent.

The Big C looks good too.

I almost forgot Luther http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1474684/ starring Idris Elba (from The Wire)

Tried to watch that when it was on BBC, couldn't get into it. :(

Boss ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1833285/ )

good acting, dirty politics, I love it.

I'll have a looksei.

watch deep space nine

Also watched this when it used to be on TV.

Regarding ringer, I watched the first 20mins or so, looked poorly made, Buffy has gotten haggard and I wasn't remotely interested.

I loved the Battlestar Galactica remake series, Has its ups and downs as far as acting goes, but the plot is very convincing.

Dollhouse, if you liked Firefly (both by Joss Whedon).

Season 1 is ok-ish and gets progressively better, but most folks tuned out early on. Season 2 isvery good.

Same is true for Caprica, actually.

None of this is Wire/Breaking Bad quality, mind you; but for the love of god, if you're desperate enough to be considering Ringer....

24? That'll keep you going for a few years if you go beginning to end.

I used to work in 12-hour shifts babysitting an empty studio (that I wasn't allowed to use)... 24 was a good friend in those days. Got tired of it after a while, though.
