Steinvord Speculation

and i'd bet it all that RDJ knows exactly who's involved, since after a little digging i've determined that Rephlex is in fact, his label.

I remember a younger [and naiver] me reading the list of all the artists on the inside of the Caustic Window album and assumed they were all RDJ alias' :emb:

Pretty damning evidence if you ask me. I wonder why anyone is skeptical?

Because I'm just skeptical. I listen to The Tuss, and it's obvious it's Aphex. But Steinvord is weird. It doesn't feel as complete as I've come to expect from either Aphex or Square. The styles though are similar. So, I'm just going to say idk, and I'm fine with that.

OK, I changed my mind. I believe this is RDJ, the stuff by JK, although nice, is not on this level. If it really is by JK, why isn't his other stuff as good? It lacks a certain fingerspitzengefühl that is abundant here.

Edit: Changed my mind again, too sloppy to be a solo RDJ thang, I don't know who the hell is behind this, but it's someone good.

If anyone knows Grant here has anyone tried to contact him on this? he promised an album, I think a year ago. Do we need to flood his Facebook until he gives us an update? I need more rephlex goodness for god's sake.

So yeah. Seems like the Gargathrax Llany thread is closed. This one should do.

"We present to you the first CD album from Scottish born, LA based, acid connoisseur, Richard Wilson aka Beatwife, demonstrating his formidable signature style once again in the form of Cornbrail Acid Part 2. Having recently completed a collaborative album with Henry Collins for Planet Mu under the alias Misty Conditions, and currently working alongside Sid Wilson of Slipknot as a member of The Miami Vice Sound Crack, Richard takes the time to expose 16 prime cuts of Electro/Braindance retro-futurism from his personal collection, firmly setting in stone his inimitable wonk and sparkle.

A snapshot of the current Beatwife story, Cornbrail Acid 2 was constructed at Moonbase Studio over the last few years whilst living in California. Different threads of a laid-back, 80s aesthetic run throughout the album; from the jaunty vocoding of Wonder Maker and blood-soaked goth-pop of Shell Suits, to the trashy, unpredictable flow of Flash Buckle and the all-out feel-good ending of a John Hughes ritesdepassage movie that is Everyone's a Hero - making it an altogether brighter and catchier experience than other examples of his output

Having been recently selected by the Vestax & Casio corporation to develop sounds for a new line of synthesizer and mixing products, this album not only serves as a concise insight into Beatwife's musicianship, but also showcases a range of his prototype devices. His surreal hybrid of retro glitz and hyper-modern chic instills a sense of elation whilst still reaching comfortably into moodier realms, all-in-all providing a contemporary, and more widely palatable, take on psychedelic electronic ideals. "

That settles it. Now, back to speculating on Steinvord.
