I've received the following package from Hexagon Sun just recently. It contains an (to me at least) unseen music70 sticker and a neat little keychain. Also included is a blue hexagon thingy with no prints on it.

Thank you MDG.

you can print yourself a tshirt now with the slogan 'im waiting for new album 6 years now and all i got was a lousy hexagon thingy'

Most definitely. Or I am glad to be able to share that never before seen music70 sticker with the community. And also patience is a virtue. We had to wait 10 years for the release of Portishead their latest album.

Was it a random gift? No word of an imminent release? The black sticker may represent the black box, ha.

A token of appreciation. No word of an imminent release. But like he said before, it is inbound. It's only a matter of time.

And yes as a matter of fact I do wonder about that black music70 sticker myself. Definitely a sweet new one!

I hope Joyrex got something, seeing as he act's as unofficial diplomat between exasperated fans and cool as a cucumber BoC.

Either way that's nice of the Sandisons....., sorry I meant mdg.

I bet I am last on their christmas list, seeing as the amount of shit I like to hurl at them lol.

Yet another Altered Sense digital self-release, I'm happy as a clam as these are getting digital releases in rapid succession. Recommended.

20 years young. I remember discovering MHTRTC (and Boards of Canada) through a tiny album review in the NME of all places, the week before release back in April 1998. It described an album awash with pleasing melodies and nostalgic childhood sounds, like it had sampled dated old science/nature documentaries you might have watched at school. A few days later I was in town, and found myself in one of my favourite indie record shops at the time (Imperial Records RIP). They had the CD hooked up to the number 1 spot on the listening post (remember those?) which was their way of saying 'best record of the week'. I must have enjoyed it right away, as I still have my CD copy from release week with the price sticker on it. I since picked up vinyl copies (including the promo above, for pennies in a secondhand rack), and have been along for the ride with BoC for the past 20 years. I am cast on a sea of my own personal nostalgia whenever I play it, yet it still sounds fresh and timeless to this day.

I'm interested to hear how others came to discover this weird and wonderful album, and what it means to them now.

This month's Steam Room landed on the release date of the wonderful new Boards of Canada album 'Tomorrow's Harvest', Their first in 8 years. As a great admirer of their craft I felt it was my duty to capitalize on the ridiculous hype surrounding this release and present you with a 2hr BoC retrospective tribute mix from myself.
