Someone in another VGM thread posted these, I had completely forgotten about them (and I beat the game) - had no idea I was listening to a DnB soundtrack back then!

OH SWEET JEBUS YES! I remember the very first time I popped that into my GameBoy. It was summer, it was warm, I was in Spain, and it was awesome.

Jeremy Soule

^^^. The "exploring" part of the skyrim soundtrack is one of the best pieces of music this year for me.

I just received a copy of the 4 disc soundtrack in the mail today, signed by Jeremy Soule. I went straight to disc four, which contains a single 42 minute track titled 'Skyrim Atmospheres' which contains all of the ambient 'strolling around the countryside' synth music. Subtly blended in are environmental effects such as bird song and crickets, crashing waterfalls, forceful winds from the mountains, guttural drones of labyrinthine cave formations, etc.

Anyone into their ambient/field-recording sounds should jump on it as soon as they can - it's brilliant.

That was probably me. Ape Escape is my favorite game. This song is actually my ringer for my cell phone right now.

First off, thanks to the OP for mentioning my soundtrack - that's awesome!

For anyone who wants to hear it in full (or buy it, even) you can check it out here:

There's been some amazing stuff mentioned in this thread, however no one has yet posted these pieces:

Also, big props to the poster to mention Soule's soundtrack set - I did NOT know about that fourth disc, but HOLY CRAP. Getting it now.

I like the Yume Nikki soundtrack a lot. Most of it is just <10 second atmospheric loops that sound like someone with minimal music experience but a clear vision grabbed a field recorder & some basic vsts. Of course, there are a few proper melodies in there that suggest otherwise...

Oh wow, you made the music for Eufloria? Badass! Great job man. Always neat to see when a watmmer's involved in something rad.

Yeah, that was all me! And thank you - I'm actually STILL working on new content for the game...we have an iPad version coming in the next month or so and I've got about 40-45 minutes of exclusive new music for that port. It's pretty hilarious how a single project can keep expanding for years...
