Top Albums of 2011 - Nominations

! Nominations close at midnight GMT !

Figure it's time to get the ball rolling on this, seeing as the unofficial side-discussion thread has started to peter out and the calendar year is almost at an end. Let the nominations begin! :emotawesomepm9:

Listed at the bottom of this post are the albums that already got the nod from multiple (i.e., more than 1) watmmers in the aforementioned thread, so unless anyone objects let's consider these shortlisted. I can update this list with additional nominations as they arrive.

I propose that all nominations need to be 'seconded' by another wattmer to be added to this list of nominees. Cool? FWIW there were over 100 albums that were only mentioned by 1 person in the other thread.

Other matters of procedure to discuss (please do!):

- Whether we want to include EPs or keep it strictly a best albums poll

- Whether releases like Radiohead's (TKOL/Basement Sessions), Andy Stott's, etc. should be separate or considered single albums

- When to close the nominations window (two weeks from now would put us on or around 11 Jan, one week 4 Jan)

- Anything to do with the final poll, like how many votes each person should have, etc.

What about Samiyam - Sam Baker's Album ? The Madlib Medicine Show delivered again some really nice music too ! (especially #11 Low Budget Hi-Fi Music)

Mind Bokeh and ISAM should be in here as well.

Samiyam and/or Madlib need to be seconded. Mind Bokeh is there. ISAM added.

2011 isn't over.

BoC could still release the album.

Black square added :boc:

what about matthewdavid - outmind?

i'm not sure it will really hold, but i like it a lot & a lot of people in here did seem to as well...

and lego feet?

it's not a pure reissue, since half of it are unreleased tracks, even if they were written two decades ago.

Samiyam added

Matthewdavid added (someone had it listed in the old thread)

Lego Feet and VHS Head added

(They've both been quite popular around watmm, although I don't want to be the sole arbiter as to whether we include EPs and reissues, feel free to discuss)

Please second (or get seconded) your nominations so I can add them - one fan does not a top album make! :yoda:
