my statement was merely to show agreement with jules' personal point of view. But somehow you saw fit to make it into some cuntish broadstroke, on my part, that everyone else in this thread knows fuck all.

I really don't care for Tri Repetae in the least. Chiastic Slide is full of hit or miss tracks, mostly miss (the only ones I remember liking are Hub, Rettic AC, and Pule). The rest rank much above them in basically that order.

Bit tricky this - for example, Amber sounds a little dated these days, but when it came out it absolutely changed my life. How do you rate that against something like Untilted? Still, I'll give it a go. As of Feb 2012...

I`ve had relisten and a rethink and Quaristice is a good album that stands out[due to the amount of tracks, the lengths, the playfulness and the old school electronic sounds and whatnot mixed in there] and I`d put it above Oversteps, and I`d probably put Untilted above Oversteps as well.

Still havent got around to a proper listen of Chiastic Slide and Incunabula, despite being into the 'chre for several years. I'm sorta saving them for the gaps between new albums. I have a feeling that I'll really like Chiastic Slide when I finally get around to it.

For me, it goes like this:

Yeah, that pretty much says it. Confield is at the top, the first one of their "difficult" albums that properly clicked with me. Of course this (and any part of the list) may change as I go on to discover the albums in different ways.

 

Oversteps came up right behind LP5. It's very hard to compare these two albums, but I suppose LP5 wins for its strong, hard-hitting tracks like Rae and Drane2. Oversteps is more about subtle atmosphere, which I might appreciate more as I dive further.

 

Draft 7.30 seems surprisingly low. For some reason it hasn't fully settled in my mind yet, but the track P.:Ntil stands out like a bonfire.

 

I noticed Quaristice mixed in with the "early three". Could this be Autechre's first slip-up since their continuous progression from Chiastic Slide? The quardrange EPs would come above Tri Repetae, but there's something I don't like about Quaristice, as an album. Like bits and pieces of ideas swept onto a canvas without any kind of focus or "perfect sound" to aim for.

 

Also, I'd just like to say that Incunabula is an amazing album, and I like it. I just like their other albums more.
