Odd places that your music has turned up in

I can't be the only one who does the occasional vanity search on google to see if your music is being talked about (can I :emb: ). So apart from finding the odd review, or that it's been used in a podcast, have you found your music used in rather peculiar places ?

Today I found a couple of oddities using tracks we'd made well over 10 years ago (hence, are pretty darn awful !). The first I found on this page and appears to be a Russian guy reading what I guess is poetry over the entirety of the track -

The second is some really weird CGI thing that I found on Youtube that looks like it uses Sims models (and features some dubious voice acting) (the music from 0:20 - 2:00 ain't us though) -

So yeah, any strange uses of your stuff at all ?

Girl-on-girl porn was probably the weirdest, but it was with my permission, so I guess that doesn't count.

This is the only unauthorised use of my music:

I tried to get in contact with them to ask how they found my music, but no response! I don't mind that they used my track, I just want to know how they found out about me.

I can't say I know of any "unauthorized" use of my music, but I have never been a harsh guardian. I was really surprised when an american campus DJ on alienairmusic.com told me he was a huge fan of my music and spun it regularly around 2008. I was a terrible with the strictly technical side of production at the time but I'll admit I had some cool melodical ideas. I will probably put out some kind of an "A few old tunes" to commemorate this period. I'm pretty sure an independent game studio used my tunes at some point before they contacted me about making stuff specifically for their game in 2010.

I doubt anyone has been inclined to use my tracks in anything, but a friend of mine has made a few videos of my tracks for shows. I guess I'll post'em up so yall can check it out.

In the version I sent him of this song it has an audio glitch that you'd probably notice. The song on my Soundcloud does not have it though.

Guest Lindrum Larry Cocopipe

There's probably only about 5 people in the world that own any of my music but I think if it were ever used on anything I would probably just feel embarrassment more than anything else. I'm always so envious of people that put out their tunes with pride and confidence and continue to feel proud of it. Within a week or so of uploading a track anywhere I regret it and hate the tune. I think I will always feel that way. Its quite depressing actually.

I organized and participated in a compilation that was put onto a speedcore netlabel by one of the other participants without my permission. also it's worth noting that the compilation wasn't speedcore at all.

other than that, no one knows about my music except a few WATMM members and my friends.

Very much agree with Larry about regretting uploading stuff to various places.... I have a bunch of tracks on various sites from years ago that I can't remember how to log in to to remove ....

I love your music Larry, recently stacked my mp3 player full with them! :music: 1 of the 5 I guess, did you stop producing? If so, get back to it

I listen to Unstarted all the time.... some of my favourite electrical music songs ever come from that collection

I once walked into a restaurant when I was in Germany, and my Remodelled album was playing. I told the host that it was my music on the stereo and they flat out told me it wasn't.

you make quality shit dude, if you don't like the tunes when you're done with em, just move on and make new tracks! you'll get there eventually... most of us probably don't have very high standards in comparison ;)

Most of the music I make is pretty shit, but I did make a loop once (which I put on Soundsnap [fuck that site]) which ended up in some random game on Kongregate (not a popular one, and he didn't use the loop well). It really confused me when I started playing it because I thought it was coming from somewhere else. It was just some kid's school project I think. I imagine that it was used elsewhere as well since it has about 1000 downloads or something.
