I like the irregular beat, although I do have a bit of a craving for a change in beat somewhere in there, would be nice to add a second more regular beat, but maybe that wouldn´t quite fit with the irregularity of the rythms in the melodies. I agree that the percussion is very repetitive but I like the beat you are working off of and it will be nice to hear it develop (along with the rest of the track). When the pad starts playing around 0:39 it would maybe be nice to add a more uptempo rhythm like a harsher hat for the contrast which could be 4/4, and add a snare on the 3rd? Just thinking. erichodge Posted April 16, 2012 Author Share Posted April 16, 2012 thanks a lot for listening and writing feedback, much appreciated. definitely going to work on the drum track a bit, the possibilities are endless there. sometimes i spent a lot of time on the drums up front and end up putting just plain too many drum hits in. this one, once i nailed the initial loop, i started writing the synths and layering to get the idea out. now i can go back and shake it up a bit and hopefully not overdo it. cheers, and thanks again, eric Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
