Yes! I enjoyed A Dangerous Method, but man have I been hungry for this side of Cronenberg.

contrary to popular opinion, i also liked 'a dangerous method'. i noticed that you watched 'eXistenZ' recently, was that your first time?

Yeah I'm glad to see Cronenberg back on track. Really didn't enjoy the last three. A History of Violence, Eastern Promises and A Dangerous Method all fell a little short for me (enough with Vigo already....)

I like his body horror stuff a lot more. For me his best films are, in order:

1. Dead Ringers

2. Naked Lunch

3. Videodrome

4. The Fly

yeah, naked lunch and videodrome can't get enough of them, maybe Crash as well, throw in tsukamoto's tetsuo and Otesanek by Jan svankmajer and you're all set

because of this thread, i am watching the fly, and have deduced that, along with physical side-effects, having fly dna in you just makes you an asshole.

What, no love for Scanners in here?

I was let down by A Dangerous Method. I couldn't even finish it. Kira Kightley was unwatchable to me and the rest just seemed like an SNL sketch.

This looks like it could be good, but over the last few years, I've felt completely turned off by hyper-violent films, unless they are horror movies.

For me, here is the Cronnenberg hierarchy (of what I've seen)...

Scanners > Videodrome > Existenz > Eastern Promises > The Dead Zone > A History Of Violence > Crash > Naked Lunch > The Fly > Dead Ringers > Rabid > A Dangerous Method > Spider

Also,

Cronenberg is awesome in Nightbreed...

Haven't seen a lot of Cronenberg (Naked Lunch, Videodrome, Scanners, Dead Ringers) but I like his stuff. I think Videodrome has been my favourite so far, although Dead Ringers has a much better story. But it disturbed me TOO much, at least those other films have an element of fun to them. The end of Dead Ringers still makes me feel sick just thinking about it.

That new trailer looks pretty awesome.

Cronenberg is back in form by the looks of it; and if anyone can help R. Pattinson shake the ingrained 'Edward Cullen' image it is this man!

Wow, that trailer was great. I don't know anything about Pattinson other than knowing he's in Twilight but he certainly looks the part for this role. Excited!

I haven't watched A Dangerous Method because I find Keira Knightly unwatchable...

at least the Enter the Void titles crew are getting some work!

looks cool.

yeah its really looks like a mashup of several awesome movies. The animals at the end look like out of Naked Lunch. The scene where he shoots his own hand reminds me of From Dusk Till Dawn:

he even looks a bit like Tarentino in that scene

Aye, hopefully the cinematography in the actual film isn't quite as Noe styled as the trailer makes out. I'm sure it won't be - trailer people can be quite misleading with their productions sometimes ...
