Pyongyang Hardcore Resistance - Corea: 8/10

A newer breakcore/speedcore EP from a supposedly North Korean band. I usually dislike speedcore because it's generally one kick repeated over and over REALLY FAST. But these guys mix that in with a bunch of other beats. The samples are pretty cool too.

Space Ghost - You're There

I feel like so many artist are making really generic beat driven instrumental albums these days. This one really brought it back to what I enjoy(ed) from this type of music. Seriously worth a listen this is going to be on heavy rotation for a while.

I bought Hard Normal Daddy last week, always been slow on the uptake with Squarepusher, I think because of the jazz element (being a metalhead I'd puke at the thought of listening to jazz lol) anyway it seems I have mellowed a bit. It's a real good listen but I can't score it out of 10 just yet because its too early. I think it may sneek crafty 8.

Odd Nosdam - The Exciting Sounds of Level Live Wires: Good/10

It's pretty much a drone album using the samples of Level Live Wires. Good stuff.

Tobacco - Maniac Meat: 9/10

I love listening to this in my car, screaming Burn All of Your Things.

The Strokes - Room on Fire: 10/10

I'm not crazy about much of the Strokes other albums, but I love every song on this album. The End Has No End is their best track imo.

After listening to Clams Casino - Instrumentals a few times I think the only real issue I have with the album is that Motivation is such a strong track everything that follows just feels kinda like an extended afterglow

Medeski Martin and Wood - Shackman: A much slower album than most of their work. It'd been a year or so since I listened to this album and I enjoyed it a lot more than usual. For those who don't know, they are kind of jazzy, but with a ton of energy. 7/10.

From another album.

Clark - Body Riddle: This album is perfect. 10/10

Locust Toybox - Noon: Can't rate this yet. It starts out so solid and goes downhill (boring) rapidly. Firth has definitely developed his sound though.

Of - The Infant Paths: Very nice album. Consists of field recordings, drones, and acoustic strings. Dunno what to rate it.

Of - Quartz Pond: Also nice. Better-Than-The-Infant-Paths/10.

My Mouse on Mars obsession goes on strong!

Got this record recently -

Mouse on Mars - Pickly Dred Rhizzoms - 7.5/10, nice ep of weird groovy tracks falling somewhere in between the styles of Glam and Niun Niggung. These tracks have excellent percussion but the melodies seem a little dull. I have a feeling further listens will reveal more melodic subtlety and get me more interested.

I've also been listening to Niun Niggung a bunch lately. It's still incredible. 10/10!

Steinvord - Steinvord: 9/10: Holy shit this is awesome.

Leafcutter John - The Sky is Always Darker Than the Road: 7/10: Sometimes this album is exactly what I want to hear. I wish Leafcutter would do a little more folk because other than The Forest and the Sea I can't get behind a lot of his glitch stuff.

Why? - Oaklandazulasylum - 5/10: None of the tracks have really stuck with me.

Reaching Quiet - In the Shadow of the Living Room - 7.5/10: It's Odd Nosdam and Why? back when Odd Nosdam put beats to lo-fi samples and Yoni rapped. I love pretty much anything Odd Nosdam does, so I think this is fantastic.

Clark - Iradelphic - 4/10: There are some down-right shitty tracks on this album. The rest are fairly decent. Acoustic guitar + Clark is pretty cool too. This probably won't stay on my hard drive for much longer though.

U-Ziq - Lunatic Harness - 10/10 - Fucking yes. Incredible. My first dose of Ziq. Freaking love it!

Clark - Iradelphic - 6/10 - Its alright... Just really starting to listen to Clark, and I prefer his older stuff to this. Some decent tracks on here though, especially Tooth Moves. Sooooo dreamy.... and then... WHAM.
