Lol, I have inverse taste to you in regards to that album then. Southern Point and All We Ask are my favorites.

Oh well. At least you've got some good stuff listed here:

Villain Accelerate - Maid of Gold

Jel - Soft Money

Unwound - Leaves Turn Inside You

Odd Nosdam - Vol. 9

Squarepusher - Feed Me Weird Things

The Caretaker - Patience (After Sebald) 9.1/10

I recommend this one as well, it's really excellent.

Also today I finally got to listen to the Django Django debut record and it's amazingly good. Kinda psychedelic pop kind of thing, but not over pretentious (think Caribou vs. MGMT). I give it a 9.

/ oshin - second or third favourite album of the year 9/10

The Fiery Furnaces - Widow City: 9.5/10

Such a fantastic album, during, in my opinion, their best era (Bitter Tea, Matt's 2 solo records, and Widow City). Their mellow-tron can pump out a ton of sound when needed, the drum work is brilliant (especially the extreme use of fills in Wicker Whatnots) and Eleanor's voice is wonderful as ever.

1 dislike? For shame.

Thom Yorke - The Eraser: 7/10

I've loved the first two tracks for the longest time but always got bored with the rest of it (still do). But "Cymbal Rush" (the last song) is so fantastic. Especially whilst driving on a cloudy day.

Thom Yorke - The Eraser: Still 7/10

Listened to it again today, and then I listened to Cymbal Rush 4 times in a row. I wish the songs in the middle weren't so dull to me.

I fucking love Widow City so much.

Great! There isn't enough Fiery Furnaces love around here.

Troon: I'm sure after 10 more listens I'll be gushing over the album in its entirety. It worked for In Rainbows.

Joao Gilberto - O Amor, O Sorriso E A Flor: Wonderful/10

Some more lovely Bossa Nova. The instrumentation isn't too obnoxious or anything.

Edit:

Avalanches - Since I Left You - 9.5/10

Another fantastic album. A lot of good car rides associated with this one.

King Creosote & Jon Hopkins - Diamond Mind Jubilee Edition. Friggin' fantastic. Don't know why it has taken me so long to buy this. Not normally a fan of music with lyrics (possibly retarded i know) but they really work on this album. Love it. 8.95/10.1

Julia Holter - Eating the Stars (Very enjoyable listen, I dislike her latest album but this ones in a different vein. Seems pure and unblemished perhaps this was her first real album?). 8/10

DAK - Youstandit _ Left Record : Alright more beats huh.. Well at least this sounds better to me then most of the nonsense and unoriginal copy cat stuff that the LA beat scene has produced. The way it should be imo. 9.4/10

Someone posted Sand Circles in this thread I believe. Thank you for that all their releases are very well grounded and perfect at almost anytime in the day. Entire releases 8.9/10

Joao Gilberto - Joao Gilberto: 9/10

Datach'i - Wearealwayswellthankyou: 7ish/10

My first electronic album. I remember listening to it on the way home from the music store on my CD walkman. I had only heard Aphex Twin at the time, so it was crazier than what I bargained for (which was good). Some of the tracks are fantastic and others are a mess, with beats and melodies not remotely matching up.

Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon

A constant classic, but one I've often neglected to play all the way til recently when Speak to Me/Breathe (in the Air) came up on shuffle. One thing I'd like to point out with the album; with my new, much better headphones, I noticed a lot more of the low, mumbled chattering on the album that I didn't pick up before! Good show.

i keep going back to cloud nothings - attack on memory and it keeps rising up my albums of the year list. it's like all the corny angsty music i listened to when i was 14 or 15 without being quite as corny and angsty.

Vibrasphere - Exploring the Tributaries

Never really listened to much trance, but I think I will after hearing this album. It's god damn excellent, hypnotic, and depthful. I'd give it an 8/10. I'm going to have to check out his Archipelago album, I've been told it's even better.

Solar Fields - Altered - Second Movements

This is a really powerful ambient album. Has a very like-able apocalyptic space vibe to it that adequately sets itself apart from the rest of his discography. I'd give it a 7.5/10.

Frank Zappa - The Grand Wazoo

Jazz-fusion, for the most part. I thought at times it was pretty good, at times it was pretty decent. Overall it was relatively unforgettable. I was a little annoyed by how loosely the album came together, there was not much cohesion throughout. I would give it a 5/10.

Man oh man do I love that album. I'd give it an 8/10 as well.

The Fiery Furnaces - EP

Nice album. Probably their most accessible. I think that was its purpose, because their previous album had no single-worthy tracks.

9/10

The Wood Brothers - Ways Not to Lose - 7/10

Great folk, only composed of an upright bass, guitar and vocals. The bassist is Chris Wood of Medeski Martin and Wood fame.

I just discovered Music for Real Airports by The Black Dog. Great stuff, proper ambient with some wonderfully mundane found sounds (and I mean that as a compliment).
