VHS Head + White Mask + Phono Ghosts 5th July

Recommended Posts

I'm not gonna be able to drink too much on these nights, due to having to get the early AM train from Blackpool straight to Runcorn and into work.

Those will be interesting days with hardly any sleep...

Blackpool?! Don't these morons know that London is the only place in the UK where things happen?

Nope, it's not gonna be a Skam night per se, but I think the plan is that the lads will have these nights as a regular thing. Their own Blackpool nights.

I'm so fucking glad I live up north because of stuff like this.

Just biked into say, you cunts I hate you. Why cant he come over here.

Thats all.

Give him and the lads a place to stay, and pay for their travel costs, and I'm sure they wouldn't mind going anywhere to play a gig. Of course, that's just the impression I get.

Well travel costs would probably be around 3000+ quid to get to Taiwan for all of those guys.

I could try, though.

And there is the reason why they've only really done gigs in and around the UK and Europe. It's not like they have a spare three grand in their pocket, ready for any gig offers :cat:

Available in Digital, 45RPM 12", and Cassette.

Phono Ghosts returns with ‘Photons in Fashion’ featuring eight new tracks of intricately spliced tape samples, continuing the psychedelic eclectic sound that marked out his previous releases on Fonolith (Solar Dream Reel) and Skam (Chrome Position).

Over 30 minutes, ‘Photons in Fashion’ careers between the forceful ‘80s digi-funk blast of ‘Cassential’, space-lounge groove of ‘Binary Dynamics’ and hypnotic disco of the title track; progressing through to the brooding ‘Dramakai’ and slinky fretless bass of ‘Observatory of the Soul’, interspersed with dream-like fragmentary interludes, before closing out with the idiosyncratic synth bleeping of ‘Hear Me Read My Genetic Chirpy Chip’.

Figured I’d get a thread going for this. VHS Head has been hinting at something new coming hopefully in the next few months. Not sure if our world collapsing is going to postpone this, I certainly hope not. He is one of my favorite artists with a flawless output.

This release supposedly comes from Neil Scriven, close friend of fellow nostalgic samplist VHS Head. I'm becoming a big fan of the sound the Blackpool boys are creating. The release date says 2010, but I definitely haven't crossed this before in my travels so maybe it has only been posted recently...
