i gave like 8 minutes a try, and then a few flicks, but it just sounds like a horrible mess

 

which is completely unsuprising, with 108 tracks squeezed into 48 minutes.

Obviously this one is very specific to hoover-heavy tracks and crammed as hell (much like some of those footwork mixes) but the intensity seems the same. I wasn't there so I can't say how far off this is from classic rave dj sets and mixtapes.

 

And the tracks themselves are pretty rough, regardless of the mixing. Lo-fi breakbeats and samples on old vinyl after all.

Early Kid606 in a nutshell! But yeah, that's a good comparison. This is still less terrifying. Listened to it at work while drinking coffee and was quite productive.
