I met a satanist in high school. Really cool dude, loved his music too.

Who said you were an edgy little brat?

How do you feel your philosophical satanist pertains to your depression if in any way?

the satanism helps me alot actually. "do wathever you want as long as long as it doesnt go out on other people."

if i were forced to live in a christian family i would probably be ALOT more depressed. christianity is really one of the most hypocritical and evil religions i can think of.

That's great !

So atm, on a scale of one - ten. How depressed would you say you are. 1 being like not at all and 10 being you want to go kill yourself?

are we talking anton levay (sp?) Satanism here or some other kind? Because the Satanism in "The Satanic Bible" is, if my pot addled mind can recall that far back correctly, a manual on how to be selfish and not feel bad about it. It fit me like a glove when I was 14-15 but then my mom burned the book cos she heard it could reappear if you tried to throw it out. I told her I'd check the shelf at Barnes and Noble next time I stopped in to see if it had materialized. Would be a pretty good scam for B&N.

oh man then I would definitely say Nietzsche or Kierkegaard to a certain extent would be right up your alley. Kierkegaard himself was an incredibly disillusioned Christian, troubled with the purpose and inconsistency behind his moral code.

well i do have the anton levay bible and i have read it. but i think that you should care about other people too. and don't physically harm anyone. but if someone gives you crap then you have to stand up for yourself or simply just ignore it.

You'll be fine bud. Just do what makes you happy, play games, talk to people, be a good person and read interesting stuff. You are already a step in the right direction if you ask me not buying in to any religious crap but later on in life if you feel like you are wanting more give THE SAVIOURS OF GOD, Spiritual Exercises a read. You did a good thing by coming here though and no harm in talking remember that. The easy and best thing for a human to do is simply to communicate.

So now that I know my comrade in arms is just experiencing some normal healthy signs of depression I'll let you and the rest of the thread continue on with its communicative glory.

But if for whatever reason shit gets worse maybe due to some bumpy ass path you might find yourself on don't hesitate to talk, shoot me a PM or just start a thread. :)

I think that's a pretty reasonable outlook; keep doing your thing man. I am not sure you are depressed, but the word has very wide meanings, and I am sure life is feeling frustrating beyond words at times. That's angst, and it cools off as the days go by...

I'm assuming it's a rebellion against the constraining morality that they see religion as having built. Makes sense to me (correct me if I'm wrong, though). I'm a Christian, but I'd probably be annoyed if I weren't and Christians tried to say I was evil because I have sex outside of marriage.

i actually ended up reading those, and as an atheist I thought they were pretty awesome at some points. (at Ziggo...that was an awesome recommendation and a great read)

I would say if you are a Satanist, that you might want to consider stretching out from that ideological yoke....one of the problems I have with Satanism is that it is more or less adhering to Christian doctrine as if it were worth an entire "anti-Christian" religion...the deity of "Satan" is based upon tens, if not hundreds of ancient gods...shit, the apocryphal Enochian writings tell of most of these original manifestations by their original names. Add that to the "Satan as representation of freeing man's will and other innate abilities" that started with Blake and Paradise Lost, and you have quite a clusterfuck of theological symbolism.

I guess what I am saying is, check out some existentialism...I didn't think I would be recommending it, but you sound eerily similar to where I was ideologically/philosophically at that point in my life....and it seriously did me a world of good (though I didn't fully realize it till years later).

much of depression is caused by nutrient deficiency. many forms of nutrients come from the sun (light), the most well known being vitamin d. it is said, that suicide rates are higher in areas of the world with less light. follow the light..

edit: the sun is almost up, time to go to sleep

  • 1 month later...

You either got some laced shit or just snicklefritz.

That is why if it were legal, it would be regulated and people would know exactly what they are getting. Unless you got a very trust worthy dealer (and even then) you can't be sure the Skywalker or OG kush you are getting are just that (respectively).

Then again, weed isn't for everybody. But if your down in the dumps, got 20 bucks to spare and never tried weed then give it a try :D

nope, it was kind ass bud, everyone else smoking it was a-oh-kay high off their tits, but i was freaking out in the corner. i smoked a lot for about 6 years (as in, the longest i went without weed for 6 years was maybe two weeks) but the more i smoked the more it got to the point where it would just make me go inward, which then made me freak the fuck out. now i can't really touch the stuff. someone posted in the anxiety thread a study about how using weed a lot as a teen can lead to massive anxiety in one's late 20s and welp, hello late 20s, hello anxiety.

also the reason i smoked so much was self-medication and i'm frankly much better off now (on brain drugs and in therapy) than i was then.

the study didn't say that smoking weed as a teen leads to anxiety in your 20s. the study found that people who used marijuana as teenagers tend to have anxiety in their late twenties. while what you said could be the reason for the correlation, another interpretation is that teens who already have anxiety use weed to cope with it.
