I've read the frame rate is bad and needs a patch.  They might have rushed it to meet the Switch Lite release date.

True, but it is a goddamn amazing remake - the visuals and music alone are worth the price (not to mention it's a damn good Zelda game to boot).

i actually don't mind the genesis mini + sega cd addon, but the rest starts to look silly. i'm still debating whether them for me, the appeal of the minis is having something that's simple and convenient to use to play retro games. the addons just make it clunky and add nothing besides aesthetic.

That's exactly it - why dick around with a Pi and all that comes with it (yeah, sure you get games you don't on these systems unless you mod them), when you can just plug in and play - like the good old days!

I just finished my first playthrough of Prey. At first, the thing that annoyed me about this game was the whole thing of "You have to go and do A. Oh but now you need to do B so you can then do A. And now you also have to go and do C before you can do B, before you can do A".

But I persevered with it, and I'm glad I did. Not only is the game storyline interesting, but I'm also fascinated by how this came to be out of the ashes of Prey 2 (which, by the looks of what it was originally meant to be, also didn't have anything to do with the original Prey from 2006).

Prey 2017 is still a decent game overall, although I haven't played the original 2006 one. The Mooncrash DLC is pretty good too, if you haven't already played it.

I just grabbed Brigador: Up-Armored Edition on a Steam sale for 40% off. The isometric UFO: Enemy Unknown style layout looks appealing, plus all the positive ratings were enough to convince me.

I got Mooncrash and the other DLC as part of a package, it was on offer on Humble Bundle I think? Definitely well worth the money I spent on it, I reckon there's at least another playthrough or two out of this game.

Brigador was on my radar because Makeup And Vanity Set did the soundtrack for it. I still need to get hold of that one too.

Okay, Joy Con drift is getting unbearable - opened a support ticket with Nintendo to get this sucker fixed...

Had to do the same w/ my joy-con when I got the system @ launch, Nintendo were speedy with the repairs and very easy to deal w/.  Not sure if I’ma get the new Zelda remake, having played the original already yrs  (decades?) ago.  Tetris 99 however keeps getting better, they added a winners section for total badasses Tetris Invictus!

People are complaining about the lite having the same problem... Not good for Nintendo.

Yeah - I heard the Joy Con is the same type they use in the regular Switch... and worse, you have to send in your whole machine vs just the Joy Con(s)...

RE: response time - it depends on how long it took (or is taking) for them to definitively diagnose the issue, and more importantly, find a fix that properly remediates the problem. With a company with a public face like Nintendo, they have to tread very carefully with these things to ensure they get it right the first time (*ahem*, Apple and keyboards) so they don't damage their reputation for quality, and more importantly, satisfy their customers.

I would assume that if they know what the issue is now, the Switch Lite will not suffer the same problem. I didn't know if affected Pro Controllers as well - I thought this was something specific to JoyCons.

It's a good thing Nintendo are treading carefully!

Yeah... really surprised at this - somebody's not got their hand on the wheel in this case.

I might save up for a ps4 pro for this:

Yes! Amazing looking sequel to an amazing game. Death Stranding is another must-have, and if you don't have a PS4 Pro, consider the limited-edition Death Stranding version:

It's er, a bit ugly (IMO), but you'll kill two birds with one stone (Get Death Stranding and a PS4 Pro) - If you're not interested in a bundle, online retailer Rakuten has a PS4 Pro for $314.00 USD with their coupon SAVE15:

thx for the heads up joyrex.  Do you use Rakuten often?  Also I didn't realize the price of the Pro has gone down so much, that's good news.

That video is one of the most egregious examples of everything wrong with YouTube, gaming culture, and Brexit.

I've used it quite a bit - granted, I typically find myself ordering from the same retailers through them, and so far no problems. As long as you use PayPal/credit card (not a debit card acting as a credit card) you can protect yourself against fraud, etc. General rule of shopping online.

Looks like the Switch Lite may have fixed the Joy Con drift issue after all, according to iFixit's teardown:

This part says differently, though

I guess everyone will have to just wait and see if they've bought yet another device with a design defect.

Oculus Connect 6 is going on right now - Stormland and Asgards Wrath both got release dates, turns out Respawn is working on a VR Medal of Honor game, Vader Immortal Ep 2 is suddenly available, and Quest gets PC connectivity. Dunno what news tomorrow will bring. Good times.

Yes, that's the console version - a serviceable port, with a few compromises (and additions) from the arcade original. A nice video illustrating the differences:
