Here’s a weird niche genre; movies that have an overture. I can only think of 3 off the dome, any others you lot know of?

2001: A Space Odyssey

Star Trek: The Motion Picture

The Black Hole

early 70s french doc on vaudou in benin. focus here is on the rituals (not the dogma, history etc) and thus it's a little low brow and proper fucked. clearly some scenes are clearly staged but it's enough to guarantee this will probably never see the light of day again.

In the IMDB review we get this movie very good.

Fatal Trust shows how well a story can change without notice and never take your eye away from the screen.

When Kate (Amy Jo Johnson)comes with her son to start a new for her family when her husband was killed.

With the help of her half sister they begin to rebuild their lives and get to be a family again.

When Kate takes a job with Dr.Mark Lucas (David Jones) the loyal Dr she seems to enjoy the job.

However she will discover that Dr.Lucas is not that he seems to be.

This movie story is a strong one that is not found in many movies anymore, it was well thought out and well build together for a movie made for TV.

The Characters were very clever and well put and they were played by great actors.

The Music really plays well and each scene has a score that tells a story with that scene.

You really need to get this movie a try and it does keep you guessing.

Overall Fatal Trust has a strong story with very good cast and really enjoyable that should be worth watching.

I give Fatal Trust a 8 out of 10

Box Of Moonlight

Great little film. Turturro is excellent as always but especially like him in this, Sam Rockwell too and I'm head over heels in love with Catherine Keener's Floatie character. Pairs well with Lawn Dogs, different director but similarly dreamy, small town America feel.

Story_of_a_Cloistered_Nun.jpg

supposedly this is a true story of some girl that refused to marry the dude that knocked her up, so she's cloistered at a nunnery where she's constantly seduced by mother superior and some of the nuns. remarkably for her us, most (if not all) of the nuns at that place are smoking hot, especially mother superior.

Space Cop. I love watching these people talk about movies, but it took three tries to finish this disaster.

interesting star wars clone that attempts to create a more realistic effect using 3D and computer animation; the script, dialogue and direction however is like a 5 year old trying to explain to you the plot for 2001 a space odyssey.

every cheesy line, every stupid decision and every dumb comment you can think of is in this. it's almost like they went to the trouble of making a very expensive animated feature, then decided for everything else to be purposely as bad as they could to make a point about plagiarism. even the music from andrew belling and the london studio orchestra is so silly, when my wife heard it at the opening credits she began laughing hysterically.

Binged all the current 007 saga to get the full story:

Casino Royale - 9/10

Quantum of Solace - 7/10

Skyfall - 8/10

Spectre - 6/10

No Time to Die - 6.5/10

Spectre is really where the wheels came off; the overall story should tighten and be more logical at that point, it does the reverse. Spectre is also full of plot holes and ridiculous coincidences to move the razor thin plot forward. The other gape in plot logic is why does Rami Malek have so much money, power, henchmen, and secret bases? Who the fuck is he? In the overall pantheon of Bond films, these are dry, they attempted to follow the Nolan version of a hyper gritty reality, and the villains are bland except for Javier Bardem, who over compensates for that absence. The broken Bond they pulled from On Her Majesty's Secret Service, having lost the love of his life was novel at first, but alliances and motivations change along the way to suite the producers. Cool to see a serialized 007 saga for the first time, who knows where they will go with the franchise next.

I keep coming back here and misreading the title as "Fatal Thrust"...

I guess that'd be a good candidate for the porn titles for normal films thread yeah?

a group of "adults" decide to drive to the sticks to make a porn movie in the 70s. this felt like a horror film made by people that watched the texas chainsaw massacre for the first time and decided to make it more edgy by making those "kids" pornstars. every chance they got they included something cliche about porn- especially the soundtrack that has a cue from the 'debbie does dallas theme' coz i guess all porn music sounds like that (or did).

couldn't wait for it to end out of ten

Moonfall_Payoff_Vertical_KeyArt_201_FIN0

unwatchable. seriously. the moon is falling. does that sound even remotely interesting? if it does, none of the actors seemed to be convinced that is what was happening so you won't enjoy it. oh and it sucks.

i used to enjoy roland emmerich films but he hasn't been firing off any cylinders since the day after tomorrow
