Forgotten IDM producers

That Facebook one two is classic....i tend to agree with the hysterical tantrum of the guy even though he shouldn't have bothered...mike p is well overrated as a producer and so too is planet mu as a label post 2006 ish...that said i've demo sent in demos hoping for goldfish bowl affirmation...

Listening to this now, excellent stuff, it's a lot like the beat scene stuff that came out 10 years later

This is fantastic. The cover art drew me in. Why have I never listened to Ilkae before? And why is everything on Merck so fucking good??

SERIOUSLY! I've been using spotify discovery and recommended artists more and ended up re-discovering how much I loved older IDM

This whole album is full of lovely little tracks. Apparently he's still producing and releasing albums, including on cassette

Just wanna follow up and say I just listened to Bring More Dragons - wow!! Unbelievable production! The tracks are phenomenal and go through so many wild transitions, reminds me a bit of Wisp but with more video game-y sounds. At any rate, one of the best albums Ive heard in a while. Thanks for turning me onto him!

I listened to Funkstörung a lot during high school. They're without a doubt my favorite German artists. They've even done collabs with Björk and Wu Tang Clan in 1999.

they collab'd with Wu Tang? didn't know that. cool.

Well, they didn't collab but did remixes. They are on this record: http://www.discogs.com/Funkst%C3%B6rung-Additional-Productions/master/24636

Secret Frequency Crew.

YES. I just discovered them last year and Forest of the Echo Downs quickly became one of my all time favorite albums. Really wish they had more material out there.

This track sounds so fresh every time I hear it:

And it's less IDM but "Pollen and Spores" is just gorgeous, I wish they had released more tracks with that sort of electro-prog-funk style.

Also I've been hoping for new Brothomstates for years. He's incredible.

13 pages and no mention of Hecq??

His brilliant "Night Falls" just got a vinyl release. And his other records are just perfect too.

From his 2004 "Scatterheart"

From his 2005 "Bad Karma"

From his 2007 "0000"

From his 2008 "Night Falls"

From his 2011 "Avenger"

Enjoy.
