This a stupid question, but is noise music the same as house music? I always get the two confused--probably because they are both 5 letter words, and both have three of the same letters in the words.

Also, I've heard some house music that's noisey (swedish house mafia) and some noise music that's housey (Deftones?)

YES

I dloaded a bunch of her stuff a month or two back. Love that one that ends with a very long rambling monologue over a skipping CD sound

Study on (in)operable rigour at this years edition of CTM @ Berghain was a site-specific composition in which the extensive differences and categories assigned as dimension to space and duration to time were but variables among variables in various algorithmic operations which precisely exposed those values to intensive micro temporal variations, where indeterminate modulations produced a multiplicity of events ranging from aleatory amplification of certain room mode resonances, errors in the sound card deriving from random oversampling which produced unexpected sonorous incidents to emerge, and where regarding a recursive mode in the programming where no halt was assigned, the composition could have potentially runned for an indefinite amount of time, as it was precisely by means of my intervention in ‘stopping’ the events that they were prevented and/or terminally halted.

There's people talking as well in that music so not JUST noise, fair warning in case the human voice offends some of you here.  :cat:

Noise acts recently discovered and lusted over:-

WINCE

ALBERICH

(Also borderline power electronics / techno but a masterful catalogue of works from this guy, works with Prurient at hospital productions as their in house engineer)

loving alberich. will have to check more of his stuff. thank you

because if his major label association, loads of his work is on boomkat

The cassette compilation v0, v1 and v2 are well worth exploring, as is the 4 hour long NATO Uniformen that the above track is from

Damn!  I was going to message you and see if you were going to be in town that week.  Why don't you just alter your plan and come a few days early?

Speaking of noise, I uploaded a new recording just now.

Unhappy distorted electronic / acoustic filth. See red link in Signature.

Long live this thread!

Also, I put together a split release with Der Smogwürger, released on Ton Doigt Dans Mon Cul, a Quebec net label.  10 tracks, 3 minutes total.  The concept was based off a noise battles comp concept that never came to fruition.  Basically I did a series of short noise bits, then he did corresponding noise bits as a response against mine.

It's a fun listen, but proceed with caution if listening on headphones...

^Yeah I've had that in my wishlist for a while. Hefty price on it tho.

Indeed it is. Artwork is lush though. If it has the same production values as the Omit boxset they put out earlier it might just be worth it.
