I mean after this farcical, he has some reputation to build up again. All the great managers throughout the times, I don't recall having this big of a meltdown (maybe I'm wrong). How are top-levels players going to respect a manager who've just came from this? Maybe SAF's first seasons at United weren't the best, but you never saw him drop this low in the table when he got more routine and got into the great manager he became. Same could be said of people like Ancelotti and Guardiola. And after Moyes and Van Gaal, United can't have another managerial miss unless they want to become the new Liverpool where every season is going to be a struggle to get into the top 4. And I don't know who of the absolute biggest clubs in the world in their right mind would hire him right now. Either he needs to take a long break or start on slightly lower level again (either a smaller league or a club outside the top 4). An international duty actually sounds like a good place for that. Definitely, some of these United fans are just as bad as the board though, one of the reasons they seem to hate Van Gaal so much is down to the quality of the football he serves up, have any of these United fans who are clamouring for Mourinho ever watched one of his teams play football?
