I think I get Oversteps now.

OK I don't know who said it, god dammit, but you're right. Now that Exai is out, I understand why they did what they did with Oversteps, and I actually find it a nice complement to Exai's somewhat slick, more beat-driven, less emotional vibe. What's different is that this time around I don't hate Exai.

Anyway, feeling the Autechre love. Life is good. :music:

Sorry to create my own thread for this but the Oversteps one is gone and I was probably the most vehement Oversteps hater besides maybe suffocate peon. So it seemed appropriate. Anyone else converted?

P.S. MoT still sux except etchogon-S.

hahaha, ok

btw, guys, I just got Incunabula. It came to me all of a sudden out of nowhere, like the aural equivalent of an extremely virulent and pustulent form of the clap. My brain felt like it was exploding, I saw stars, and snot dribbled from my nose.

y7 is a more complex m62. m62 is so dancey though i can't put either track ahead.

i will need to relisten to oversteps/mot. it's not that i didn't *get* it, it's that it was underwhelming for me. those noodly synth lines are interesting in theory, but they gain a sort of annoying repetition with their extensive use. plus the beats simply aren't there.

even prac-f, which i like but don't love, is worlds better than any beat in oversteps/mot. they had interesting beats (ilanders, os veix3, opener/closer of mot), but nothing that made me jizz my pants like the first time i heard spl9.
