sounds nice. hopefully he can pull of a full LP this time; the bside of the last one was completely weak.

lol, just went back and checked out the last album and the bside is almost unlistenably bad. worse then i remembered.

My day was made when I heard this announcement. Then the BoC video came out and my recent work related stress evaporated.

Of all the "chillwave" press darlings in 2007 Washed Out has become my favorite. Memory Tapes was the best in the first wave of releases and his work is good but I haven't found it as engaging. Toro Y Moi has been consistent and enjoyable but never my favorite. I never cared for Neon Indian's first album I've warmed up to him a bit with his second album. Of that scene though, no one has matched Washed Out, who I think just gets better in his production techniques with each release, and I have high hopes for this album. Summer will be amazing.

the summer of chillwave was 2010 amigo

have you listened to small black? they just put out a new album that is clinging on to what's left of chillwave

dude you're right, I totally stand corrected

I haven't listened to their new album, "weird machines" is about the only track I listened to by them that I really liked

  • 2 weeks later...

I already know I'm going to have this album on repeat. It's hard listening to this at work and not impulsively quitting so I can go to a pool and endlessly drink Mexican beer.

^yeah, I think he's really progressed a lot in general, tbh Life of Leisure was rough sounding besides "Feel it All Around" - of his peers he closest to being a true bedroom producer

sounds like it is going to be a little different than the last

you would hope for some progression

for sure

not as an immediate sound as the last album. which is probably a good thing for longevity
