I need WATMM's help in voting for my burger!

Hello WATMM!

I have done it. I have finally perfected the hamburger. And I need your help to win a contest! I submitted a burger to the Los Angeles Times Battle of the Burgers. I'd really appreciate it if you guys could vote for it. It's called the Spicy Peruvian burger, and it features many amazing things, the best part being homemade aji amarillo, as taught to me by a native Peruvian friend.

You can vote once a day between June 3rd and June 10. 2 years ago you guys helped put our burger at the top. I'm hoping you guys can pull through one more time. Just click "like" on battle of the burgers: https://www.facebook.com/latimesfood/app_367716780015829 and it will let you vote. Mine is on the 5th page. Remember, please vote once a day! The top 20 vote getters get judged by the LA times themselves....I know this burger can take the prize. It's offensively good.

Thanks everybody!

I have some issues with this.

Firstly, why is the avocado not on the burger? Secondly, what do I get for upvoting you? Thirdly, regardless of taste your presentation is a little haphazard in my opinion.

I need this!

You do man!! If you go to that page the full recipe is there. It's really worth trying! (While you're there toss me a vote! ;)

Firstly, the avocado is on the bottom bun. It is really hard to fit the sheer amount of ingredients I have on the burger without it falling apart. I have been perfecting this for the past 2 years since the last time I entered, and I found that only one creamy sauce on the meat is enough. The aji amarillo serves that purpose. Directly on the meat we have melted cheese, followed by bacon, then smothered by aji amarillo. Trust me, it is a true mouthgasm.

Secondly, you get the pleasure of knowing you helped an awesome burger (and a fellow wattmer) take first place

Thirdly, I'm not sure what you mean.

im not quite sure how to vote? im not seeing anything after liking the page

it's confusing to navigate. If you like the page I linked you to, there should be a place to vote. Try reloading it...liking either la times food, or battle of the burgers, or both seems to do the trick.

burger sub forum pls

yeah get a proper photographer in man or you've no chance. most people arent gonna be able to vote on the taste so its gonna have to look like a piece of art.

What kind of chile pepper is that on the side? Looks like an Anaheim but way too orangey - that's Habanero orange, but I've never seen a Habanero that long...

The chile on the right is the main ingredient: It's Aji Amarillo from Peru. I had it on the side to show what they look like. And the avocado on the other side is decoration also.

Both ingredients are already in the pictured burger.

I remember the last time you asked for our help, what place did you end up in back then? Glad to be around the second time, I like the look of your burger.

I got like 3rd or 4th place in votes last time! Then the LA Times makes those and decides on the top 5. I didn't get in the top 5. Yes, the initial round is a popularity contest (pretty stupid), but the second round is all taste. This burger is so good that it will definitely beat the second round....it's WAY better than my entry from last time. This is the burger to end all burgers. It's the first round that's tough (getting enough FB votes!)

Interesting! I grow chiles as a hobby, so I will be on the lookout for those on my next chile hunt (still looking for the elusive Fresno Chile in sapling form; not brave enough to try seeds yet).

Goint to give you a vote, but you need to grill that bun. And if you have any vegetables minced up in the burger most burger snobs will deny that it's a "burger". what's in the cheese, it looks grainy which also might cost you some votes. If there's chopped up veggies in there you might want to puree the cheese sauce and attempt to strain any grainy looking bits out. Char the burger more, and put the bacon and sliced/fanned out avocado on top of the cheese sauce. I'm sure it's delicious, and i'd like one for dinner, but as others said it needs to be a work of art. Just trying to help out where I can. Best of luck.

People's coments lead me to believe that they haven't read the description of the burger at all (which includes the recipe).

The only thing minced in the burger is 1/2 a jalapeno, which is barely anything when dealing with 1/2 pound of meat. The bun is tosted. You can't even see the cheese in the pic. The yellow sauce is the aji amarillo, which is a creamy spicy sauce, which is already pureed. The cheese is english cheddar w/caramelized onions. I'm not sure what you mean by "grainy".

If you guys actually want to comment on the contents of the burger and how to "improve it", at least find out what's in it by reading the recipe. Lastly, it doesn't need to be a work of art. I've seen normal looking burgers win this thing before. It needs to be delicious and unique, which this is. The voting system is lame (people just recruit friends to vote), but when it comes to picking the top 5, all that will matter is the taste.
