I've read names in the media suggested from Helen Mirren to Idris Elba, both of whom I think would be great, and bring something new to the franchise. I'd prefer an older actor this time myself - the dashing young ball of energy Tennant/Smith were gets tiresome after a bit. That would also put the kibosh on the in-vogue Doctor/Companion fancy each other trope the current series loves to beat to death at every turn.
