Detroit files for bankruptcy

Just wall it off and make it a post apocalypse theme park.

There was a company that wanted to buy up several blocks of property & turn it into a faux survivalist zombie paintball action mega funzone, where you're team is pitted against a horde of zombies. It was not approved by city clowncil.

haha! it really was a good idea though. we have the same idiotic council stopping every new project in buffalo, but they keep building $250k shithome developments in the burbs. literally under 50 people who are yelling loud enough can completely derail city development.

Yes, city clowncil meetings bring out the a very rational & understanding group of contituents...ahem...yea. Our emergency manager Kevyn Orr came in & took the axe to them. many of the clowncil resigned or ended up just "disappearing" & having not been heard of since, except for photographic evidence placing them in Seattle. It was only a mtter of time before chapter 9. Running an $18 billion dollar deficit with a $1 billion income doesn't make good maths...

This all sounds so fucked up from a foreigner perspective, especially considering the way it's portrayed in our national media. But what does it actually mean on a practical level? Are they just going to shut the whole thing down and send every detroiter off to another city/concentration camp?

Nope, can't afford to do that.

But, Artwork at the DIA is technically up for grabs. So, if you want a piece of the Diego Rivera Detroit industry mural...Put in a bid player.

Oh, and if you're into committing crimes, felony a/o misdemeanor, Detroit is the place to be right now.

it technically has been for a while. But even more so now...grab your guns kids.

The Omni Consumer Products buses will take them to rehabilitation centers.

Haha...I hear the southside is grim up in there. Very interesting question you pose about the techno masters...probably because they live in the immediate downtown area, Palmer park or indian Village, which are the rich areas of the city. Or, dare i say, they live in the

burbs

I'm just trying to get things into perspective... like should Robocop clean the streets off ethically rotten techno heads. That would be ironic as in little iron.

Sometimes there are questions that demand answers. Questions that strike to the core of one's beliefs. The Abandoned Buildings in Mono series returns, this time, with a question. As the social, mental, educational and economic destruction of Detroit continues, many are forced to question the one thing that has carried generations of Detroiter's through turbulent times in the past. The Church has been the cornerstone of many communities throughout history, yet what does it mean when the institutions of faith turn and run from the difficulties Detroit faces. In the face of the religious abandonment of the city at an increasing rate, some have been forced to ask the question, "HAS GOD LEFT DETROIT?"

The next step is melting the ice caps and letting the Atlantic gush into the Great Lakes waterways and turning Detroit into the founding colony of Drexciya. Nothing wrong with a little bit of retcon.

I like the post-apocalyptic theme park ideas..

Also...

Imagine the amount of underground raves that could take place in all the abandoned warehouses... like an entire sxsw, but for raves. lolol

damn....watching that just makes me feel really sad inside. i wanted to be angry, but if that council member can act the way she does during her public service, what good does that do her constituents? it's just sad.
