Anyone thinking this is his best album yet, or at least the best since the debut? I bought it on Amazon because the MP3 was oddly cheap, but I've only listened to the title track so far. It's got an encouraging rating on Rate Your Music at this point and is having a good critical reception in general, it seems, so that's why I ask. I like the change in aesthetic (dark cover, darker sound apparently) too.

why does he have to slag buzz off?

Though Willner previously enjoyed making tracks with his computer, he feels as though the change to physical equipment has been positive. "I'm just very happy I'm not using software anymore, because it was very limited," he explains. "Buzz is a very fun program—I love it, I've used it since the late '90s—but quality-wise, sound-wise, it's not the best. With hardware, I don't even need to mix [the sounds] because they already felt a bit more rich versus the old productions."

I think this is definitely the album where he's perfect The Field aesthetic. It reminds me of the fourth Gas album in that way. I would like to see him explore his other projects more now though, especially Loops of Your Heart.

Bought this without hearing any of it, and haven't regretted it. Compared to his other albums it's far from the day and night difference the packaging suggests. Sounds more like he's gone back to the essence, closer to his first album than the other two. Even 'No. No...' works for me eventually, despite being such a silly proposition.

finally gave this a first listen. better than the preview track made me expect. and I actually enjoyed 'no.no' because it was quite different.

definitely isn't more of the same infact it is different because of the change of software for hardware. same formula perhaps but different sounds
