Deepchord - 20 Electrostatic Soundfields

Redruth

Recommended Posts

"Rod Modell has been making experimental dub-techno under the Deepchord moniker since 2000, and has today announced the project's latest full-length, 20 Electrostatic Soundfields. The album is planned for a release via Modell's longtime label home, Soma, marking his third release for the outpost. 20 Electrostatic Soundfields is said to be more ambient than its predecessors, and according to the press release, its 20 tracks are "an assemblage of conceptual audioscapes culled from video soundtrack and installation works made between 2008 and 2012." The press release also notes that "the album has an otherworldly, nocturnal feeling that would sit well on a David Lynch soundtrack."

Fancier editions available direct from Soma. Might want to move fast if you want the cheaper DVD edition, there's less than 20 left.

Can't wait for this to cast a lovely Modell shaped shadow over the upcoming Autumn here. Going to be excellent.

This combined with new OPN will make for some perfect new Autumnal listening.

this does not have the hooking intensity of sommer, however, what it lacks in hooks, it makes up for in atmospheric detail, saturation and with many pleesing field recordings, pleasant nature sounds. wonderful diversity in this and several shorter tracs which r very good for the pacing and make for refreshing change from rob's usual trac sizes. thx u plees

I'd go along with that. It's in a pleasing middle ground somewhere between Liumin and Sommer for me. I'll check the DVD out later. Another shot:

CD/DVD package arrived this afternoon. Really enjoying, though I wish the interlude tracks were a little longer though :cerious:. Definitely shares the same fall/summer vibes as Sommer.

Leaves are starting to turn on the trees... it's getting fresher... low winter sun... it's the perfect soundtrack to these things :music:
