relationships vs. getting anything done

Porn is destroying society and appeals to the lowest parts of th human mind. Zero respect for pornographers no matter how they dress their shit up and try to play it cool. Brb I suddenly need to watch Sasha grey get gang banged.

But seriously porn separates and devalues relations. Either we become a completely pornographic society open to disgusting group sex or we popularize the idea that porn is uncool and evil. Sinc morality keeps becoming less and less important be ause of cunt motherfucks like Dawkins and hitchens tricking fools into thinking atheism is a priori more intelligent than religion I guess it's better to embrace porn.

Maybe atheism is better I didn't need to bring that into this. All I know is that I don't see any atheists railing against porn. I see Christian groups and what that tells me is that religion isn't all bad. Forget it, porn is good. We need to bring back the law of the jungle and stop pretending romance is a thing that matters. The adventure of a relationship can only have less and less value as porn becomes more prevelant not only in the porn, but in entertainment on MTV and in music by ill Wayne, etc. it's all downhill until all images are replaced by gaping assholes. That will be the only remaining entertainment that can satisfy.

I hope you broke up eventually because of the stuff his porn-addiction resulted in (or maybe because he was lying about it), not just because you were outraged by the fact that he was watching porn in general...? It seems for a lot of younger people, the majority of them being women, porn is still a highly sensitive topic, even though you'd think we're all pretty much cool with it at this point.

My girlfriend just wrote her bachelor thesis about porn-watching-behavior of women and interviewed a couple of friends for it, with interesting results.

There was also an incident in which I showed a music video of mine (for which I had sampled some porn-footage off the web) in class, to a group of art-students - five or six girls actually left the room, followed by a one hour discussion about whether it's okay to show this kinda stuff - at an ART SCHOOL! I'd never have expected that.

Anyway, in the end of the day, pretty much all men (and a whole lot of women) watch porn, except maybe this one guy I know. And it's silly to feel jealous or hurt about your partner enjoying porn, it's no big deal as long as you're honest about it - Hence, it is also very stupid to hide this from a partner, and I would have been pissed off as well to find out somebody had been lying to me.

It's strange isn't it. That artschool example was classic. I think no matter how advanced and progressive a society gets, and no matter how they dress up or disguise their distaste with seamingly rational arguments. At the heart of the matter is instinctual distaste of certain things.

Nevertheless madame is better off without the guy, he seemed to have a few issues. heh ...

Religion doesn't equal moral behaviour, religions don't have a monopoly on morality. In fact throughout history in the name of religion the worst of human traits have been allowed free reign.

Yes of course, watching it in small amounts is no big deal (most people do it). But to become completely consumed by it is another matter entirely.

That may be true but I'm merely observing reality... that most atheists support porn on average and view it as free expression. Whereas religious people are concerned with the wide scope of how it will affect society. I'm merely observing what is actually going on. Religious people were probably ahead of the game here, seeing it as obscenity and noting how the more power is given to the idea of porn as "normal," the less closeness there is in human relations and the further society degenerates.

None of this would sound "cool" coming out of an atheist's mouth. Thus, even if it isn't even true, it wouldn't even be considered as a possibility. Because many atheists are more concerned about what's cool than what's right.

Of course I'm just noting trends, I'm not trying to say that atheism is stupid or wrong, I don't know much about it. I think this is just one of those examples that might possibly instill just a bit of doubt in the mind of a Dawkins, but like I said I don't know jack shit about it beyond what I see people saying on Facebook and TV.

So typical! Conservatives need to freaking grow a pair and come out of the closet, maybe then they'll chill out a little.

I officially watch a buncha redheads getting fucked up their butts and you don't see me walking around re-electing George W and wearing deer-antlers.

My last girlfriend was good for me. We both had passions and interests and we seemed to feed off of each others energies for said passions. We also watched porn together from time to time. My longest relationship was more the opposite but it had its reasons.

i decided i dont like relationships where either party are emotionally dependent on the other.

also, i think folks in general ought to be more responsible.

both are tricky cause maybe a big reason people look for relationships is to get relief in some way from those two caveats.

Because many atheists are more concerned about what's cool than what's right.

Quite the contrary, if you had to critique atheists, I think you'd have to say we care about what's right, to a fault. :)

I would rather explore an unpredictable train of creative thought than have a predictable day out with friends and family but I would drop everything and skip to the door if invited on a mystery adventure or to the forest

A'ha! But therein lies the flaw-- predictability is illusion. Preconception causes constrained perception. By having preconception, one can mostly only experience what they think they will. If we let go, every experience with family and friends- though familiar- is new. Just like working with the same synths or DAW-- some people make all tracks that sound the same, but some can rock that shit and use it to explore musical life to a fuller potential.

LIVE LIFE!!! Don't expect-- just act, perceive, live, ejaculate on strangers in the street.

p.s. Waddup delet!

I think the point is that you should be with someone because you want them, not because you need them. You need to love yourself before you can love anyone else.

WORD.

I told my ex so a million times, after we broke up, when I was trying to "help" her get her shit together emotionally (she dumped me, mind you!) - She was so in need of a relationship and fell in love with like 4 or 5 different guys in sequence, to the point of totally obsessing over each one of them, even when she had only talked to them ONCE and hadn't even seen them again after ... she is like super-shy too, so she didn't dare to make a move on them, either. Also she wanted to be the traditional old-fashioned girl who gets hit on, not the active one. Oh man. Those were entertaining phone calls.

Anyway I told her she needed to learn to feel alright about herself while she was single, and then she could get a partner as an "addition" to that. But she wouldn't listen.

Then me and my now-girlfriend got together and that totally messed with my ex, because I had said to her I wasn't even looking for a new girlfriend and it just happened regardless, hence proving my point about the whole being-fine-on-your-own-thing.

So she got into online dating and met her now-boyfriend, the guy who I happened to know from Kindergarten by chance.

I don't know what their relationship is like, I have almost completely stopped talking to her since, she seems pretty consumed by it which is what she wants, I guess.

All I know is they both changed their relationship status on Facebook to "in a relationship" less than 8 hours after they met in person for the first time.

It's a bit creepy.

if you find the right person to date after a breakup, why force yourself to go through a "breather?" there are no hard and fast rules regarding relationships. each person is different and they need to find someone who respects and likes those differences.

The problem with porn isn't a moral one, it's a neurological one. It changes the way your brain regulates dopamine. Scrolling through hundreds of images/videos of nice asses gives you unnaturally high dopamine hits that are addictive. It's like being trained to only get off with escalating levels of arousal from images on your screen. Your sexual arousal is basically being hijacked and re-routed to a state that is unbalanced and not ideal. This can lead to sexual dysfunction, anxiety, depression, trouble interacting with others, and brain fog. Only temporarily, though. If you were to stop looking at porn for a month, you'd be surprised how good you feel and porn kind of loses its appeal. And sex will be AWESOME.

I'm an atheist, but I realized that porn is detrimental to the people in it and the people who watch it a lot. It dulls the senses.
