it's been a long time since this was first conceptualized, created etc

but here for the first time is our project

hidden in the vaults and some might say "our archives" (only a few of you will get that) is the first and only track by e d i t. (yes we did come up with that name before the planet-mu guy took off

so who is e d i t ? edit is my good friend and fellow hooligan mistigri who now goes by the name the s.s.s. btw and i, semj YEK

we had reall potential back then and a drive to change the face of electronic music ,( at least in our neck of the woods)

a project from which greatness created greatness

i could go on

but i won't

i'm proud of this track and i think this really shows the geniousof our two minds LOL

ok but anyway, yeah , this has a great amateur sound to it and i love it lots. this track was created , oh , i don't know, 4 years ago? done pretty 50/ 50 between the two of us,

to be honest this is just really a part of a larger jam session which will never see the light of day. but we polished it up and this is the form it now takes. "intelligent mp3"

i'm posting this cause it NEEDS to get released to the public, haha......... i just really feel the need to share this sound from an era that is quite close to my heart, the edit era

werdup to that

Well, it's definitely got that ACID Pro sound. Nice though! I like the main melody, quite melancholy, but soothing. Goes a bit weird around 2:05, not really into that bit. Like the drum and bass break though, that sounds nice. Yeah, nice track overall!

The main harmonies have a bit of a new agey/post rock feel ala Andreas Vollenweider/Tortoise. Yeah started off and I was thinkin 'where is this going?'. The change at 2mins felt abrupt and totally out of place. Yeah quite pleasant. I think I agree with the others its not necessarily gonna rock the world but yeah pretty chilled pleasant sort of track. A bit sketch like to be honest but nice couple of minutes listening experience.

Guest test pattern

i like the addition of microphones w/ electronics...muy bueno...track def has a lofi vibe which is cool, but it could use some eq/compression to give a fatter feel...the beats remind me of manual kinda...the melodies sound really fragile n beatiful which complements the drums really well

James Trunkey!

This is Eric Hogg, Fairen/Jacob's friend. Small world it is. This is really cool. I really like your choice of source sounds, and that time stretched beat kicks ass.

I'm listening to "Flown" now. I really like the synth sound/melodies in this. Cool stuff.

I'm glad to have finally heard your music. See you around!

thanks for those kind words. i too think the vocal samples add a lOT to this track because it's very minimal to begin with

for some of the vocals we recorded our prank calls to people, phoning them up and then not saying anything so they're all like "who issss this?", you can hear that quietly in the background

another bit, the girls talking at the beginning was a recording of my sister with her friends, therapy sessions she did with her friends. she recorded these therapy sessions on soooo many tapes and then gave me the tapes because i needed some. some very personal stuff on those tapes , i don't know why she gave them to me but i didn't bother listening to much of it, cause yeah, they seemed very personal , and i'm sure her friends wouldn't have liked that either.

Sure thing!

I've got tons of stuff posted here:

http://www.acidplanet.com/zephyr_nova

I recommend Robovirtuoso, 0 Radio, Chasing Chimeras and Liquid Satellite... but my best is still a work in progress --I'll probably have it posted by Thursday.

Hehe, I saw your icon and did a double take "is that... it's James Trunkey!" I knew you were really into Aphex Twin, so it wasn't a huge surprise, but still... I'm glad to see someone I know in person posts here as well.
